My question to all baseball fans or sports fans that hate Bonds is this , have you ever lied about anything in your life regardless of how big or small the lie was ? Barry Bonds is not the only baseball player that has lied about his use of steriods whether it was to a grand jury , at a congressional hearings , to the fans , it doesn't matter . All the cheaters should go to jail not just Bonds , but McGuire , Sosa , Clemens , Arod , Canseco , Giambi , Pettis ,  the league got their list from the snitch Canseco . But don't stop there throw in all the professional football players who are known users , boxers , basketball players , soccer players , tennis players ,  weightlifters , why just stop with Bonds throw them all in jail too . Cheaters are cheaters no matter what sport it is or what player it is . But for some reason the focus is on Bonds and I don't want to hear about he committed perjury because they have all lied . Don't just single Bonds out and let the rest of them go send the mob after everybody or don't send them at all . Yeah America had their love affair with Mark and Sammy when they were chasing Roger Maris homerun record they couldn't get enough of those two cheats even the Maris family got caught up in the BS not realizing those two clowns were roid using cheats .

Bonds comes across as a petulant jerk.

I disagree. He's more of a prick than a jerk.

It seems as though those athletes who have owned up to taking PED's have been generally "forgiven" by the fans, or at least are not seemingly as "hated" by the fans where those who have not admitted their use continue to be "hated"...

So Clemens and McGuire don't come across as being jerks ?

Yes you are right but not hated or disliked as much as Bonds . Is it ok if A-rod becomes the sacred alltime homerun king when his so-called cousin injected him with roids ?

That is mainly due to one story about Bonds. SI had a former writer named Rick Reilly who wrote a piece called "I'm Barry Bonds and You're Not." The entire article was Reilly's critique of Bonds because Bonds didn't drop what he was doing and give Reilly an unlimited amount of time and his full attention. The true petulant jerk was Rick Reilly.

I don't like them either. I thought your question was about Bonds.

???Love Me, Hate Me??? is a good read about Bonds.

In all of this talk the O-W-N-E-R-S have been left out of this. How much money has baseball made since the Roid era? I'm not saying that Barry should be left out. I'm disappointed in his actions. But people take short cuts to get to the places they think they need to be. And the owners took short cuts too. They even supplied some of this stuff. Or let it happen and cashed the checks.

I figured you would blame Jeff Kent...but it isn't hard to see why Bond's other teammates felt isolated from him.

Bonds was truly special, and it showed in the clubhouse. There are 24 teammates who hung out with one another, played cards and bonded, and there was Bonds, sequestered in the far corner of the clubhouse with his personal p.r. man, (Steve Hoskins) masseur, flex guy, weight trainer, three lockers, a reclining massage chair and a big-screen television that only he can see.

A telling sign came when Bonds hit his 500th home run, only one person came out of the dugout to greet him at the plate: the Giants' bat girl.

Bonds was a triple A kind of player. Aloof. Arrogant. ****hole.

The media.

If they're on your side, they will water down ALL the terrible things you've done. Just ask Big Ben.

If they hate you, you will be considered scum of the Earth. Just ask Allen Iverson.

I put Bonds in the same boat as Lance. Until is he PROVEN guilty of doping, he's the best HR hitter in basball history.

Period.

Completely agree. Bonds was a jerk since his days in Pit. He acts as if everyone owes him something. Not saying he should be singled out, but the others have confessed to their use, excluding Clemens who is another story. He holds one of the most coveted records in HR's in a season and all time. How would he do if he never took the roids? Bet he would have been somewhere around high 500's in hr's.

Also Bonds is not being singled out. Marion Jones had her medals stripped and also served time in prison for the same thing Bonds is being tried for. Admit your guilt and we can move on. Giambi, Aroid, and Pettite all did and we have all moved on.

Yes, but Rick Reilly was the biggest Bonds critic amongst all sportswriters. Reilly stands as the number 1 reason why people hate Bonds.

No. Bonds is the biggest reason people hate Bonds.
As Jim Leiland told Bond during his last spring training with the Pirates. "It's just not worth it anymore. You're not that good, NOBODY is.'
