Yes. Of course I know all the best songs about drinking are sung by country artists. But I'm going to leave that for another member of the group. What I'm going to concentrate on are the rock songs about drinking. You know - getting F'd up. Getting Hammered, etc. etc. etc...... Why, they don't call it Sex, drugs, and rock n' roll for nothing do they? (Hey wait a minute a minute.... They forgot about alcohol!!!!!)  Cause I like drinkin'.... And so should you.

Why is George Thorogood so good at talking about drinkin? Is it the advice he gets from his friend Jack Daniels, or his partner Jimmy Bean? I don't know. The dude can flat out jam though. Slide guitar at it's finest. Johnny Walker and his brothers blackie and red. If you don't like this, chances are you're pretty much a momma's boy.

Those of you who know me, know that I don't like mainstream. So that's why I'm including the great L7 and their epic hit. " I drink". I actually think of this song a lot.
"Yeah, I drink I get drunk and fall on my face" .... Classic lyrics from some lovely ladies. If you missed them, too bad for you Britney fan.

Back when Def Lep had all their arms, this song was the shi'ite. Perhaps you're not insane enough. Maybe you're not running in thin air. Good for you! But... I've got to get out.... I've got to get out..... I've got to get out... Won't you help me? ..... Won't you help me get out?????

If you don't want some whiskey in your jar..... then I just can't help you.

It is said about AC/DC, that they are the greatest rock'n'roll band of all time. I don't know about that, but they at least liked to drink. Don't you?

So dear Reader... What's YOUR favorite drinking song?

There's no way you did this while drunk. You got all the youtube videos right.

Doing that sober is hard enough.

And nobody ever sang about drinking like Frankie......

I didn't know Sinatra sang this. I like it better by Marvin Gaye.

don't have the skill set for the you tube posts, but personal favorites (aside from Snortin' Whiskey - I hadn't heard that in forever!)

God's Own Drunk - Jimmy Buffett (off the first live album)

One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - John Lee Hooker's version - because he sounds like he's living it while he sings it

and UH .. I know you'll include Playin' Possum, right?

I'm planning on doing mine in a top 10 format.

Haggard and Jones will most likely dominate the list.

That's a good idea. I couldn't do mine that way.

When I'm drinking everything sounds like #1.
