Sounds like Trevor has been reading our sight because he has decided to stay with Nationwide and run for a Championship there.
NASCAR were willing to make some changes and if Trevor had made the Chase his win at Daytona would have counted towards a win for adding points but Trevor has decided to he will take the high road.
I am waiting to see who owns his contract.
He was cut loose by MWR last year and was picked up by Roush. Trevor is running in Roush in Nationwide and Wood Brothers in Cup with Roush backing for engines

Smart move. And he can still run with the big guns on some Sundays.

Even better odds in NW .... it's questionable whether NW will have a full field in Phoenix.
In fact, multiple sources confirmed less than 43 cars will show, a combination of the economy, a new car design and a 20% purse reduction causing several teams to pack their bags and stay away.
Among those on the definite "NO" list for next week include KHI #4 Tony Stewart, Penske #12 Sam Hornish (WHAT), and Germain #15 Todd "the Onion" Bodine, Phoenix Racing #1 with NW points leader Landon Cassill, JR Motorsports #5 was JR, plus Means Motorsports #52 (following their practice crash) are also unlikely to show, which would drop the entry list total to just 39 cars ....
Trevor is in the NW #16 & CUP #21 ....
And do not Worry Guys ..... DANICA is in the #7

Thank goodness! You had me worried there for a second that Dani wasn't going to be there!

Some of these aren't surprises like Tony, and Jr, even Bodine to an extent. Landon Castle was said to have been using his points position as leverage for a ride.
Any news on the field size for the Cup race Nova?

Kodiak, multiple articles have said Roush owns Bayne's contract and he is just being loaned to the Woods Bros for 17-18 Cup starts.
But lets face it there are really no Ford teams in Cup outside the Roush Sphere of Influence.

I fear a result of the rule change will be a NW champion that hasnt run the full series in 2011
As for danica
oh wait, I said last week I would avoid this subject in the future, never mind.

one thing I liked with the little bit of exposure I had a while back. years. to SCCA racing was the rule book
I now holding my thumb and forefinger tips about 1/10" apart.
you had classes, you had cars assigned to classes, you had a few things you could do to the car, you had a few things you HAD to do to the car. You then RACED.

Bayne was smart. Jamie Mac also won his second race, but it took him years to catch on. Take your time and gain experience.

yeah. I think we all got a glimpse last week.. Treavor is no dummy himself, he knew what to do, smart moves in addition to his SKILLS,, he's got some skills "upstairs" too. Its probably not ALL his smarts on this, but it goes to show he has good guidance too.

Did anyone notice how long the tires were lasting at Daytona? I noticed that in the late pit stops most all of the people were just getting gas. I read later that Goodyear came out with a new tire design. The left side rubber was the same as Dega but they changed a few things that made the tire specifically for Daytona. I was trying to find more information about this, but I can't seem to find anything.

... as for Landon Cassill, he is entered in the CUP #60 TOY - the car Todd "The Onion" drove but DNQ at Daytona ....

Thanks Nova. I saw where the tires lasted 125 miles, didn't overheat and showed no appreciable signs of wear.

I believe its all family money, father's business, help from Brad maybe. With the issues going on recently, it wouldnt surprise me much to see others with deep pockets throw it down so they can buy their way into a short field.
