Could it be? Is this the year?! Do we make it to the end of the season better than 500? Should I venture to say we will make it to the playoffs? Or beyond?
As a Buffalo Bills fan I prepare myself, as we all do. I cheer no quieter, yell no softer, yet, I am prepared for the infamous let down, to blow the obvious leads and to loose the most valuable players. Need I add, four super bowls later, scaring my youth?
Despite an interesting start, I must say, who looses on a safety? Case and point, we held our own against the pats who in recent years put us to shame with solid shellackings. Despite the instinctual caution, our defense looks fast, fast, fast to quote a friend and a Pats fan.
Our special teams are running the show, consistent with previous years. The Bills' special teams ace and safety Coy Wire was even named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his standout performance in Buffalo's 16-6 win at Miami last Sunday. That is a start.
All I will say is that I am looking forward to the season, which differs from no other year. I feel like I was on the brink of Christmas Eve from the start of pre season to opening day. This year may be the year where Santa comes to town with great gifts wearing red, white, and blue.
