Yesterday made it official, the England National Team would not go to Euro 2008. After a very unimpressive performance in qualifying, I can't say that they deserved to go. Because they just didn't deserve to win that match. Instead, a very good Croatia team took first place, and an up-and-coming, Russian side took England's spot right from them. England had played almost every one of their macthes below their usual par, and they also played that way last night. Steve Mclaren, England manager, took a lot of blame. So much that he has already been fired. He made some very bad decisions in this match alone. Such as starting backup goalkeeper Scott Carson over usually decent Paul Robinson. He also decided to start Shawn Wright-Philips, which isn't a very bad move. But when you don't start the only man that has actually been playing well for you (David Beckhma), you are asking for trouble. Beckham recorded an assist in the match in the middle minutes of the second half, but it was too late. Had Beckham started, England could be moving on. Surely Mclaren will never get another English job. I just think that even if he went to a club team that he would get booed and the fans would hate him. Mclaren has disgraced England, and this pain won't go away unitl England qualify for the 2010 World Cup. Trust me English fans, England will be in South Africa come 2010. I guarantee you that much.
England are also going to be on the lookout for a new coach, and I see to big-name candidates that could become manager very soon. The first is Jose Mourinho, and the second is Fabio Capello. But you can count on one thing, the Football Association will not mess up by picking another bad coach.
