In a HUGE impact show that featured Bart Scott of the Jets mixing it up, Jeff Jarret's wedding to Karen Angle, Big Poppa Pump vs Rob Terry, HOgan telling everyone he has %100 control of Tna, and a lil someone made his return.. Sting was the mystery opponent on tonight's Impact against HW champ Jeff Hardy...BELT ON THE LINE,MAIN EVENT.. STING FINISHES HARDY WITH THE DEATHDROP.. and NEwwwwwwwwwwww HW CHAMP, STING! Finally making his destination known after the huge buzz on the internet.. I guess Tna's feeln the heat with the Rock back on Jabroni drive, and Wrestle Mania heating up... Sting takes the thrown as KING again in TNA.. I personally would have rather seen Sting vs the Undertaker than Undertaker vs Triple H.. Triple H has already faced the TAker at wrestlemania and lost..dam.n, owell. There were some rumors that Sting never talked to WWE officials.. i don't know.. I"m not a big wig with connects here but he was a free agent.. I do know that..

Sting has held a grudge against Mcmahon for years. The story goes, many years ago when Mcmahon was looking for talent he saw a tag team comprised of Sting and the Dingo Warrior. McMahon signed Dingo and told Sting he didn't have what it takes to make it. Dingo became the Ultimate Warrior and Sting stayed in WCW and TNA ever since.

theres a guy who lives near me who worked in the PR area of the WWE and retired a few years ago. iv picked his brain over time and Sting came up a few times. you are right about McMahon and Sting but there is more to it. some years ago McMahon offered to bring Sting in, but in the role that McMahon wanted. Sting said the only way he would do it was if he was built up to be a Superstar. McMahon would have none of it and talks ended there. sounds on par with McMahon.

Vince has always disrepected wrestlers who made their names elsewere first...read as....won't push or given horrible gimmics (Dusty's polka dots).

It's too bad they couldn't get it sorted out for Wrestlemania - but I figured when they ponied up to bring The Rock back, Sting was out.

Dusty Rhodes, Lex Luger, DDP, and Psycho Sid are good examples of guys that didn't get a huge push.
But "always" is a bit extreme.
Vince gave pushes to several guys that first made it big in other orgs - Flair, Steamboat, RVD, Guerrero, Benoit.
Really depends on politics - and as much as Vince is a capitalist, he did play favorites and was a micro-manager.

True, it is not an absolute and there are major execptions that I forgot about in the moment. He did seem to make even the big names such as Flair and Steamboat jump through a few hoops first before giving them a major push in WWF/E, BUT that is because as you pointed out politics and favortism came into play way too much.

Why he didn't take advantage of her Dancing run was beyond me and instead just had her do nothing until her contract expired sevral months later

Yeah, you're right.
Now that I think about it, Steamboat had to go through a few 2nd tier feuds (Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, The Magnificent Murocco, etc) before he finally got the big Wrestlemania moment with Savage.

Is that why several black wrestlers have to jump throw hoops? I've been wondering why some very talented wrestlers, black and white, have been sitting around waiting for a good chance while others seem to have opportunities dropped on their heads.

Steve Bordon and Jim Hellwig wrestled in Bill Watt's Mid-South territory as The Blade Runners. Similar to the Road Warriors except they wre young, green and not very good resulting in them accidently hurting a few guys in the ring. After they ended their deals with Watts, Hellwig went to Fritz Von Erich's WCCW promotion in Texas as the Dingo Warrior and Borden went to the NWA as Sting.
Sting said that after WCW went under, Mcmahon offered him a job but he was afraid that McMahon would job him out lke he did to so many of the other WWC guys so he decided not to go.

When Vince Sr. ran the company you saw little to none of this BS,Andre,Jesse Venture,Abdullah the Butcher,Ernie Ladd,Bruiser Brodie---the list goes on and on. Those were the "REAL" territory days and Sr knew that it was good business to treat the others right, keep them fresh, then let them move on and bring in others, only to do it again. Then Jr. took over ran everybody out of business and clamped down on all of the talent, especially those who didn't bow down to him and kiss his billionaire boots. Then of course you can add in the sex scandals of the 70's,80's,& 90's which like the steroids scandal he has magically made disappear.Vince has destroyed so many careers with his egotistical, heartless bordering on maniacal power trip that how he has escaped jail is beyond many that really follow the field. Steve Bordon was far too proud to bow down to his nonsense and when I first read those rumors 2 things came to mind 1---total BS,and 2 if it is true I really hope Steve sticks it to him hard. Steve Austin is a fine example of Vince and his BS,for years he smacked him around with gimmicks bordering between torturous and sheer hatred. But when Austin blew out and up with his Stone Cold gimmick(Steve's own) he left Vince with no choice, there are still hard feelings between the 2 due to Vince's ego, because Austin made it happen and not Vince. It was not too long ago that Austin walked out on the company and gave Vince one of the biggest FU's since Brett Hart,Hart unfortunately is as big of an **** as Vince,Austin maybe but at least he wasn't part of the "bully posse" like Hart was,Hart was a lackey to Vince forever only he didn't know it,then when he had the gall to try and do anything different than Vince wanted, well we all know the story after that.Do you really think Shawn Michaels need to be "born again" because of drugs and women? No---he needed the devil exorcized from him---and that devil was Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
