As a fan of the Patriots and lover of football, I think one thing the Pats need to do this offseason is work on toughness.
I think the best way to accomplish this is to add to our running game and our blitzing packages on defense.
Far too many times last season we made games closer than what they should have been because we didn't have a true running attack. Don't get me wrong our running game was sufficient for what we had and what we were trying to accomplish on offense. But it couldn't get the job done when truly needed.
However, when that passing game wasn't working or we needed to take time off the clock. What usually happened? Three and outs forcing a young defense to produce and many times they didn't.
Yet, part of the problem was we couldn't cover a coffin in the secondary. When we did, we had to cover for too long and broke down eventually. When we got the pressure, we didn't have the coverage.
Clearly, we need lineman on both sides of the ball. Some cover people and a running back that brings fear to the other team.
A home run hitter on the outside wouldn't hurt either.

Excuse me, did this team go 14-2 last season or 10-6? The way you are talking is like the Patriots were mediocre last season. We do need players for the defense and the offense to help take the next step. Certainly on the defensive side of the ball. But this is a team that is still growing and young.

May sound crazy but they should sign Plaxico

Plax is not a good fit for them. I know from the height thing you may think it could work. He doesn't fit the mold of a Patriot.
