 Come join Aggie Hoops.......

STRENGTHS
The winning attitude instilled by former coach Billy Gillispie made the Texas A&M job one new coach Mark Turgeon couldn't turn down. A huge commitment from the athletic administration, which has begun construction on a $22 million practice and office complex adjacent to Reed Arena, makes A&M one of the most attractive jobs in the Big 12. Three returning starters, as well as 7-0 freshman phenom DeAndre Jordan, is a nice assortment of talent to inherit.

WEAKNESSES
Losing Acie Law presents concerns with how the Texas A&M attack develops, though the biggest unknown is how the Aggies will get along without Billy Gillispie, a fiery coach who demanded attention to detail and stressed gritty defense. Mark Turgeon, who was hired out of Wichita State, is a promising young coach with an impressive pedigree after working under both Larry Brown and Roy Williams. But questions exist how he'll respond working in a major conference.

LAST YEAR
27-7 overall, 13-3 in the Big 12; lost in third round of NCAA tournament.

HEAD COACH
Mark Turgeon (overall 128-89); first year at Texas A&M.

QUOTE TO NOTE
"I'm coming from a place that sold out every night and had a waiting list of about 700 families. I want to create that here. I want to continue what the staff before me started. I just want to keep getting better and better. That's the goal, and that's why I'm here." -- Texas A&M coach Mark Turgeon.
