"On Wednesday I made the pilgrimage that every basketball fan deserves to make at least once in his or her lifetime. I made that trip to Manhattan to see four college basketball teams play in the grandest arena in all the land. Of course, I'm referring to Madison Square Garden. Two games were played that night and neither came down to a last-second shot. However, both were great games to watch. Surprisingly, it wasn't that big of a crowd even though Syracuse was playing in the second game."

I've been to the quarterfinals. Butler-IU. That's close enough. Every fan should go to the Great Alaska Shootout. So much more prestigious.

I'd like to go to the Maui Invitational some year.

I usually go to the NIT (the post-season tourney not the pre-season tourney) and no matter who's playing the place is at 60 to 75 percent capacity.
What you should do is try to sneak down to the courtside seats. I did that years ago when Cal and Clemson were playing in the NIT Finals. That was so cool.

I was on the third level and probably could have moved down to the fifth row or so but didn't really feel like it.
Anyways, the thing about the Garden is no matter where you are it seems like you're close to the action. So I guess I had a good seat, too. haha

Yeah, that OSU missed dunk made my day. I didn't know I was in the Garden with the #22 ranked FanNation-er! :-O Both games were great

Haha. Yeah, you wouldn't have recognized some 14-year-old. I was at awe of how well DeAndre Jordan and Jon Brockman played and how poorly Eric Devendorf.
I just have one question for you: did you even notice Johnny Flynn doing anything in that game?

Good post. Too bad that the NIT isn't what it used to be.

Actually, when I went, I told my friend "Look out for #10 on 'Cuse, Johnny Flynn. He's supposed to be an amazing freshman". I made sure I saw him every time he got the ball, but all I saw him do was barely miss a few cool passes.

They'll probably make it to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 if they're lucky but not much more than that. I can't see them as a Final Four-caliber team.

I think they can make it to the final four maybe further, right now they are beating teams pretty handily while shooting terribly from the line. If they can fix their free throw problems they will be a force. solid D and good offensive output. they have a really good chance to make it to the final 4.
