What do you mean never won? Temple is #6 all time in NCAA basketball wins with 1711. They made the NCAAs every year from 1990 to 2001 (coach John Chaney) and were ranked #1 in the country entering the tourney in 1988. Please recall Chaney went after John Calipari then of UMASS wanting to choke the itiate. Too bad he was restrained. Temple has been to the tourney since 2008 (4 years). As for VCU, no respect but they have clobbered USC, Georgetown and Perdue to the point that none of the games was a contest with 10 minutes left to go, especially Perdue in what was almost a home crowd!! VCU has only won an average of 25 games the last 5 years. What's Michigan done in the last 10 years? Purdue? Don't sell teams short just because they aren't from a major conference. When was the last time the Big east had a final 4 team with all of the teams thay have had in the tourney?

Temple hasn't won an NCAA championship but they have a winning tradition but have never won the big prize ,

Come on the only school which chocked from the big 10 was Purdue...MSU should not have been in the Tourny and played UCLA all the way, TSUN played well against Duke, Penn State did as expected. Admit your love for the big 10 and you will be a happy person!

Michigan State won with Mateen Cleaves , Jason Richardson , Charlie Bell , and company in 2000 .

The Butler comparison is dumb. Butler has a better coach and better system than any Big Ten school and have been good for the last 10 years

The fouls at the end of the game were dumb. Butler got lucky.

PSU hasn't been to the tournament in 10 years, spent the whole season on the bubble, only made the tourney with a strong Conference Tournament run beating a current sweet 16 team in the process and had a lower seed than Temple.

YET still only lost on a last-second shot with their best defended/rebounder/shot blocker out for the second half with a dislocated shoulder.

PSU over-achieved this year - WAY over-achieved. Too lump them in as an example of an overrated Big Ten team makes no sense.

The conference this year has one great team and two pretty good teams and 4 or 5 decent, but not great teams. It fits a great bell curve. But not overrated.

Who said they were overrated ? They underachieved in my humble opinion the coaches and the players in the tournament .

Well if you want to compare what it means to underachieve then I guess you have to compare yourself to the other power conferences.
The Big Ten is 7-5 in the tourney
The Big East is 9-9
The ACC is 7-1
THe Big 12 is 4-4

When you factor in the seeding of the teams then the BIG UNDERACHIEVERS are the Big East teams not the Big Ten teams.

Butler is done after this tournemant for the next 5 years. There will be no more sweet 16 runs and if Brad chases the money like Lickliter then Butler will be irrevelant once again. Remember Brads success in recruiting was built off of Lickliter and if Brad leaves who would be able to coach and recruit at this high of a level? The answer is no one. Butlers success in recruiting started when yours trully Thad Matta came back to Bulter. Lets not act like Butler has had there success just do to Brad. It has been 10 years in the making with 3 high level coaching hires.

How about Michigan State in 2000. When did KY win? How about 98 with Tubby Smith current head coach of the Big Ten Goeffers.

Since 98 Izzo has had 14 tournament bids, 9 sweet six appearances, 7 elite eight appearances and has been to the finals 2 times where he won one.

Even if you combined Thad Matta, Licklitter, and Brads record at Butler they still wouldn't add up to Izzo's resume in the tourney.

Lets see what happens this year maybe you will need to change your tune1

I am 5 minutes away from Butler and i do like them a lot but I am not a homer. They will lose plain and simple. It will be very hard for Butler to run the table this year given their depth.
