I changed my ways a long time ago. I'm not leaving. I just wanted some views, honestly.
In the end, this site is nothing more than a place for sports debate. It took me a while to realize this. I had to take a break from the site and realize that life went on without it. It sounds corny, but it did wonders.
The fact people get worked up about sports debates I think is quite silly. I've always been one who has set aside sports debating and the rest of my life. Have I got into heated debates on this site? Yes. Have I ever made it personal? Never. Honestly, I think if more people took this approach, we wouldn't have as many issues. I don't think Jim would have left and I don't think Yohi would have left.
Don't get me wrong. I'm a highly, highly competitive person. That was my downfall early on. But you have to realize that there are people out there who will do things to get under your skin. I made it known too early that I cared about TD'ing and winning and people would use that against me. After taking my break, I realized that none of my friends, family, etc cared if I won my TD about Kobe being a top 10 all-time player. And why should they have to suffer me being mad over a stupid website?
It's always seemed silly to me when people freak out, make a big scene, and get deleted or if they make a big scene about leaving. For a lot of us and myself, we don't know each other personally. It'll suck losing a sports fan here or there or a nice person, but it's not like we're losing a best friend.
I'm not sure what the point of this blog is. It's just something I felt needed to be said. Take this site for what it is. It's a place to debate sports, maybe meet some other sports fans, but it's not life and death, like with most everything else.

Yeah I guess. Taking breaks is fine. It's just when people are immature about it or make a big scene that it annoys me

i agree.... people often get too personal on this site. it's easy to respond with a one liner that comes across wrong or flat out rude. you can't take things too personally here. seen many arguements... been in a few. but that's what happens when you debate with passion on the web. all personal contact is gone and you see things said here that would never be spoken to a person. lots of strong personalities here.... but it's easy to "appear" strong when you know you will never see these people LOL

I agree. You see ESPN, Fox, CBSSports, etc, they all run sites similar in function.
It just so happens Sports Illustrated's version of a fan site is a complete Train Wreck - but that's what makes it so irresistible.
