Most Valuable Player

All right, for this award there are many candidates that have been worthy for the award, my list of top 5 would have to go as: Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, and The Black Mamba but not in that order

I think the main two players that everybody thinks are the most deserving players for this award is Derrick Rose and Dwight Howard followed by LeBron and Dirk and Kobe and others rapping up the list.

So lets compare that top two players first:

DR: 37.4 MPG .445 FG% .862 FT% 11.9 R/APG 1.6 S/BPG 3.5 TOPG 25.1 PPG on 20 Shots

DH: 37.7 MPG .596 FG% .592 FT% 15.5 R/APG 3.7 S/BPG 3.6 TOPG 23.1 PPG on 13.5 Shots

DRose's pros are that he leads in MPG, FT%, TOPG, PPG

Dwight's pros are that he leads in FG, R/APG, S/BPG, and is a more efficient scorer

This looks pretty even and I agree that is very close but I am going to have to take Dwight Howard over Derrick Rose for a few reasons

Howard is a better defender and players think twice before trying to drive in the lane against the Orlando Magic, he is much more efficient scorer and he has a better FG%. He also is one of the best Rebounders at his position if not the best while DRose is 10th in APG for PG's

All in all, I think that Dwight Howard should win the award but DRose will win the award because of how little of a team he has had this year and how well his team has done. I think that is a more of a draw on who should win and the record and injuries is the reason while DRose will get the award.

While I risk sounding like a homer. I think this MVP race is more than just the stat line. What Derrek Rose has done goes beyond that. For a LARGE number of cames (too lazy to go find out exactly how many) Rose was without any inside presence. both Noah and Boozer missed significant time this year. Rose carried the Bulls during those times. Just sayin.

That is why I have him winning. I just think that Howard is dealing with more of the same with Rose. Not very good guards (like Rose has not fowards) and nobody to come in for him in the game. Rose is all of the deserving but he also has Loul Deng to help him out. I like Howard but Rose will win
