Welcome to Part II of The Champ Of Sports Talk, the finest show in American sports talk. For the next segment we are going to police the sports world of un-champs. People who taint the world of sports with their petulance and arrogance, and all around loser behavior. The Hall Of Shame is a place of eternal humiliation and ridicule, where your worth as a marketable commodity is stripped and you are put into your place in history as a perpetuator of loserdom, and a habitual violator of the commandments of Championshipness.

Hall Of Shame

Players that do not exhibit championship behaviors on a consistent basis and have completely turned to the dark side are thus summoned to join other losers and non-champs in the dreaded HAAALL OF SHAAAAAME!!

This class is a class of standard makers in the field of un-Champish behavior. This class is a ghastly class of the most vile offenders. Lets us start, with our first inductee.

As an athlete, he was adored by millions as he ran all over football fields, breaking records in his wake. After retirement, and enshrinement into the football HOF, he was again adored by the people for his roles in movies. Then one day, the veil was lifted off of this man, and his true nature was revealed…Orenthal James Simpson was now seen in a new light, a double murderer.

The Champ could give a rats @$$ about the verdict. The man is guilty as sin, and since that time over 10 years ago, he has shown just what a classless **** he really is by his book ‘If I did it”….wow…and his other countless ridiculous statements and actions he has made. He has impacted a generation with his shame, and I think that he is the only true candidate to be the first inductee into….THE HALL…OF…SHAAAAAME!

Orenthal James Simpson.
Fan Nation, can I get a “Boo this man”?!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Our next candidate, while not as despicable as Simpson, is equally shameful for his shameless, steroid fueled assaults on baseballs record books, while allowing the country to call him a hero and role model. Mark McGwire was once an icon. Drafted as a rookie in 1987, he was a phenomenal hitter, then after chronic injuries, he became a different McGwire…he was now Big Mac, a guy with a go-tee and a mullet, and he was bigger than ever. He proceeded to hit homeruns like it was nothing, eventually rising to the status of National Icon during the homerun chase with Sammy Sosa, which brought Baseball back to the national spotlight. After retiring from the game that made him a legend, and as the single season HR king, he figured he would end up in the Hall soon enough….but then..

Jose Canseco decided to become an author. His explosive allegations across the league implicated the leagues best players as being juicers. He gave explicit information on how he injected McGwire in his hiny in the Bathroom stall at the A’s clubhouse. As a result of this book by Canseco, McGwire was called before a congressional panel to talk about it. After a moving speech by the parent of a kid who died from an overdose of steroids, the reason why this was such a big deal  was front and center. The kids see what is really going on and they imitate it. When players all juice, the effects trickles down to the kids, who are trying to play in the big leagues themselves.

After the speech, there were few dry eyes, and the parents anger was tangible. McGwire was then called to speak, and when asked about his steroid knowledge, and involvement, he said “he didn’t want to talk about the past”….WTF…in a single moment, his entire career was deemed worthless. He gave a self-serving speech about how the ‘disingenuous’ Canseco was trying to tear down people for his own failures, and how he was a good guy. The Damage was done and Mcgwire basically clammed up and cried about it, instead of taking responsibility for his actions and manning up. He said he got advice from his lawyers to not say anything, which was not good advice…

Mark McGwire, for your offenses against the game of baseball, the fans, and the kids, you are hereby sentenced to dwell with SCUM like OJ in the HAAALL OF SHAAAAAME!!! BOO THIS MAN!

Our last candidate is a pioneer into the depths of scumbaggery. He is a coach killer, a QB killer, a team divider, and a royal pain in the @$$. His name is Terrell Owens. Drafted in 1996 to the beloved 49ers, he was brought in under mentor, Jerry Rice, the greatest WR of all time. He thrived in SF, and created quite the highlight reel. However, he began degenerating into a monster once Steve Young was forced out of the game. All of a sudden he calls his team heartless to the media, he insults his QB’s arm and says they don’t throw it to him enough. He screams at and humiliates his offensive coordinators. He has no respect for authority telling his coach “I aint your son”. He has assaulted his QB calling him gay, and assaulting the heart of McNabb, criticizing him to the media for his super bowl performance and dividing the team. He comes to Dallas only to continue his degeneration. Missed camps, chronic injury, mocking the coach’s inspirational ability, sleeping in meetings, endorsing the backup QB, and the suicide attempt. This guy is a certified trainwreck and has made it ‘cool’ to be a me-first player who glorifies himself over the team.

Terrible Owens, for your crimes against humanity, your selfish, childish arrogance, and cancerous infectiousness, you are hereby sentenced to dwell with your peers in the HALL OFF SHAAAAME…your room is upstairs on the right next to Simpson. Maybe you guys can talk about having a big head.

Some of you may think that the HOS is harsh and we should be more lenient. While the Champ thinks this class was true Shameful material, there are players who should be given  a warning. For this we have our next segment….

Step yo Game up!

A list of potential Hall Of Shamers, warning them that their behavior has been noticed and they should shape up before they get sentenced to the HOS.

While their behavior and actions are un-champish, they should still be give a warning before their inductions into the HOS. So please, for the fans, get it together….

Mike Vick – STEP YO GAME UP!

He was drafted as the future of the QB position. His multiple physical talents were supposed to change how defenses play. This never happened. Yes, he has created highlight fodder, but he has also failed miserably as a leader and has yet to produce a title in his 7 year career. He flipped off his fans, was using the alias Ron Mexico for Herpe treatment, and now the pitbull starving thing. As an animal lover, the Champ finds this most deplorable. He gave an interview at the draft where he seemed to genuinely want to change his ways, but he has yet to show and prove. Mike Vick…here is your warning…Step Yo Game Up!

Kobe Bryant – STEP YO GAME UP!

He was also the future of the game. The next Jordan, maybe better. Winning 3 titles in his early career solidified him as one of the greats…then…the bickering with Shaq, the throwing Shaq under a bus when he got caught up for an alleged rape. Buying his wife a 4mill$ ring to make up for his mistake…and her excepting it. So after destroying the greatest NBA team since Jordans era, Bryant brought back coach Phil Jackson and tried to run the Kobe show, not ever passing and trying to win it by himself. The sports gods showed the righteousness of their Will by giving Shaq another title while Kobe sat at home watching. Now, he has been trying to rebuild his image, but who buys this crap? I don’t…Kobe Bryant, you better STEP YO GAME UP!!

Dirk NowitskiSTEP YO GAME UP!

The NBA MVP? He looks pretty replacable to me right now. He has cried about everything working against him, breaking the first commandment (Thou shalt not run thy mouth), and the second (thou shalt not blame others) and his coach had to reprimand him. He is supposed to lead this team, which dominated the regular season. Instead, he is showing that he is unable to step up his intensity and lead his team to the promise land. Dirk, you are not supposed to whine in American sports, get it together, and STEP YO GAME UP!!!

Enough talk about losers, lets talk about some winners and people that exhibit championship behaviors, they don’t get enough praise….so our next segment is:

People that are Champ-ish

For all the headline space wasted on non-champs, we take some time to acknowledge the few who consistently exhibit championship behaviors and ethics.

Brady Quinn – The Champ was truly impressed with his poise on draft day. He was obviously thinking he would be picked as every team came up, but he plummeted to #22, which must have been insulting. However, the football gods immediately awarded his Championship behaviors by sending him to his hometown team, where he originally wanted to go, the Cleveland Browns. Kids, when things don’t go as you plan, don’t cry, and whine, those aren’t Champish things to do. Look at Quinn’s example of how to deal with adversity. He handled it like a Champ and the Football Gods awarded him thusly.

After the break, we return with more of The COST, here is whats up next:

What were they smoking?

Quotes or stories of utter stupidity from the sports world

Who would win the fight?
