You should ask yourself one simple question: does the BCS feel lucky? Well? Does it punk?

Say what you want about my allegiance to my alma mater, but UGA shouldn't be in the title game. Although, I would like to see how the BCS pollsters would weasel their way out of letting UGA go if WVU and Mizzou lose.

With that said, I think that UGA in the title game would do wonders for instituting a playoff into major college football. The pro's do it, Div. I-AA does it, heck, even NCAA basketball does it. It's time that college football does it. How sad is it that the BCS geniuses give us one more game for the BCS title game while not giving us a Plus one playoff? They gave us plus one minus the playoff. That's not sufficient BCS-bigwigs.

The season is not a playoff; it's the SEASON. Just limit the spots it takes to get into the playoff, and the season will still matter (4-16 spots could easily be worked out). Heck, even give us the Carcare bowl or Cotton bowl in between the playoff games, and I'd be one happy NCAA football fan. --->Relax readers, WVU will not lose to Pitt (even tho Mizzou is likely to lose to OU), so Georgia will not get a chance to have a shot at the title game. I'll be sad to see OSU get obliterated by another spread option offense again; although, OSU's D is much better this season, and WVU's D ain't UF's D from last season, i.e. UF's D was much better. And we all know what defense wins....... championships!!! Jeez. It'll be more interesting than last year if WVU plays OSU, but I fear another blow-out laid down by a spread option offense on a Big 10 team.

I read too many college football articles online, so my opinions are basically an infusion of all of their viewpoints. I still don't think that a guy who leads his team to 3 losses should win the Heisman. Call me a homer, but that doesn't exemplify "The most outstanding player" to me regardless of his stats. The only stat that matters is that W. Shoot man, if you wanna look at stats then look at Colt Brennan who has all kinds of passing records and is still undefeated. Sure the schedule is not up to snuff, but he's still a great QB. Timmy Chang broke the passing yardage record before Brennan, but Chang also led the NCAA in picks. It's not just the system or schedule people!

wvu HASNT played anybody UGA deserves it more!

November 28, 2007  09:13 AM ET

I would love to go to New Orleans and whip those dawgs!!!!
Guess we both need to pray for upsets!
You dont think UGA could jump OSU do ya?
Mr. Moreno v. Little Animal, ahhh it would be lovely

I suggest the SEC cuts down on two inter-division games and schedules two more games against the Big Ten. Like if you're Georgia, instead of playing Alabama and Ole Miss you play Michigan and Minnesota. Then you rotate it through the next year to the Pac-10.

November 28, 2007  10:13 AM ET

xxx84xxx, UGA definitely wouldn't jump OSU, but LSU might jump UGA. That would be a good game though.

Sider, that wouldn't be a bad idea. Like I said before: there needs to be more SEC/Big 10 regular season match-ups. The big boys are scared to play eachother. The Pac 10 is just too dam liberal (not necessarily a bad thing), so they try to play everyone in the world to prove themselves.

November 28, 2007  10:50 AM ET

I like that idea southsider, kind of like the ACC/Big Ten challenge in basketball.
Man that wwould be so cool, LSU/UM, OSU/UF (eek), PSU/Auburn...the list goes on...Great Idea, just Great!

November 28, 2007  02:06 PM ET

Hey sharky jark, Wvu deserves it more than uga simply for the fact that they have only one loss compared to uga's two losses against a .500 south carolina team and tennessee...Atleast Wvu's only loss was to a 9-3 team. And let me remind you that pat white, a heisman contender, was hurt for much of that game..What makes you think uga deserves a national title game if they can't even make it to their conference championship game? Come on, get real. Wvu has already won the big east with a regular season game to spare. Even though the SEC is better than the Big East, it's irrelevant.

November 28, 2007  02:20 PM ET

I'd actually like to see UGA v WVU again a lot more than UGA v VT again. I guess that's mainly b/c I feel a need to right what was wronged against the dawgs. Dam Slaton and White.

November 28, 2007  02:21 PM ET

WVU is more deserving. It'll be good to see how they perform in the really big spotlight.

Dam Slaton and White.

play some one wv -9-3 is nothing when you play in a wimp conference-think you could hang 60 on an avg sec team cheif- i dont think so wait- you only scored 30something on miss state-i think-sec rules -and you all need to get a clue on bowl games -many times year after year the better team tanks it cause the players are still kids and they overdo the party part of the bowl experience-just ask former players

LSU HAS to go. They are 6-1 against top 25 teams. No one else in the country can say that!
Ga - not conf. champs, they get the 2nd best of the SEC bids
VT - LSU whipped them bad 48-7.
OK - too soft of a schedule.

It HAS to be LSU verses whoever!

December 2, 2007  06:48 PM ET

UGA didn't win it's division, let alone it's conference. They are a really good team, and probably better than Ohio State. But, really hard to bump them ahead of LSU...and the 3-touchdown loss to Fat Phil's Vols doesn't help your argument.

December 2, 2007  09:43 PM ET

Yeah, the whole Tenn. debacle is the thorn in your side. I will say however, Ohio State sat at home for 2 weeks, as did Georgia Ohio state
gets the bump to the top, and Georgia loses.

Im not arguing who should be there, or who i want there... but that's illogical. - they use the conf. championship game to justify bumping LSU to the #2 spot, now, georgia doesn't play gets penalized (dropping spots) and Ohio state did the same thing Georgia was doing, and took the #1 spot.

If you use the LSU formula, along with leaving Georgia out, why shouldn't it be Oklahoma vs LSU?

Good point Insomniac08.

I never said that UGA should go to the BCS title game (I acutally said the opposite); I only proposed that it would do wonders for instituting a playoff.

I think this season is sufficient cause for starting a playoff anyways.
