So, starting pitcher Jason Marquis has started the season on fire for the Cubs. Currently (May 3) he's 4-1, 2.09 ERA, and he's making the Cubs look brilliant for signing him. Can this last?
In a word ... no. Looking at his peripheral numbers, he's struck out only 19 batters in 38.2 IP (4.42 K / 9 IP, right in line with what we've seen the past 3 years). He's not fooling anyone ... he's pitching to contact and getting extremely lucky (only 27 hits allowed in those 38.2 IP). Further helping his cause is only 2 HR allowed so far. Marquis has no history of surpressing hits (975 hits allowed in 949 career IP), and usually gives up more HR than this ... so at some point soon, his numbers are likely to start regressing to the mean. If you have him on your fantasy team ... consider selling now, while his value is very likely at its highest.

On protrade, I short sold Marquis in hopes of his hot start being history.
