I am not being overly dramatic. If the San Jose Sharks go down 2 games to none to the Vancouver Canucks, they will not be coming back. They would have to win both games at home and then 2 of the final three. Who thinks that's going to happen?
This team has put itself in problematic situations all playoffs long. They made the LA Kings series more difficult than it needed to be, then squandered a 3 games to none lead on the Wings by deciding the series was over after 3 games. This team simply can't put teams away.
Check out this. The Sharks haven't played a 60 minute game yet. They blew a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period of game 5 against Detroit. Horrible reaction to what should have been the end of the series. Detroit is a great team, but if you have a chance to get rid of them early you do everything possible to insure it. Not sit back & try not to lose.
And again in game one against Vancouver what happened? That's right. They had a lead in the 3rd period of game one & lost it. Totally unacceptable for a supposedly "elite" team. Yeah, the 'Nucks are a great team, but the Sharks do this against average teams all the time. My pet peeve is how many times the Sharks give up a goal within 2 minutes of scoring one. That has to stop.
So again. I don't see this team playing for the cup. Frankly I don't think I will ever see them play for it. Let alone win it. They just don't have the will.
