HE DID IT!!!!

THe living legend, the "executioner"..

 Notable Oldest Sports Champions:

Willie Shoemaker age 54 Kentucky Derby

Martina Navratilova age 49 U.S Open

Al Unser jr.  age 47 Indy 500

Bernard Hopkins age 46 Light Heavyweight title!

Jack Nicklaus age 46 Masters...

I take B-Hop as the MOST IMPRESSIVE on that list! He had to dodge some serious haymakers from Pascal to caputure history. Move Over George Foreman, B-Hop's the oldest cowboy in town!

Next up for B-hop?.. either Chad "Bad" Dawson or a 3rd fight w/ Pascal! Pascal wants a 3rd fight because he lost by a couple rounds, and he stunned B-hop in the 12th to no avail.

Bernard Hopkins after the fight,"I won't retire until I'm 50."

Congrats to The Executioner.

Pascal isn't getting a rematch. He can say that all he wants after the fight but no one will listen. Not even his manager. He is a big draw there in Montreal and has lots of possibilities. He wasn't ruined in that fight by any means. A fight with Dawson early next year is a real possibility.

I am thinking it is going to be Bute. Dan Rafael already said Richard Scheafer is going to look for a loop hole to get out of the "boring fight" with Dawson.

HBO left off Archie Moore that list. Archie is still the oldest to win a title match. Hopkins fought a much better fighter as Giulio Rinaldi was just a domestic Italian fighter and is Pascal pretty good. It was a great victory. I hope they fight Dawson next and to be honest he should do it now.

I didn't like what I saw from Dawson at all and I now think Hopkins can take him. Fought way too mechanical and I am not sure I like the pairing with Stewart. Dawson needs a more attentive trainer, someone who is going to ride him a little more. Dawson has unbelievable skill but I don't know if he loves boxing. Stewart is great with guys like Cotto and Wladimir because they will basically do all the outside stuff on their own. The road work and nutrition are taken care of.

I would love to see Dawson do a few training camps with Anne Wolfe. She will either make a killer out of him or he will quit. Another guy who would be great is Robert Garcia if he has the time to take him on. His stable is getting full with Donaire, Mikey Garcia and Brandon Rios.

Yeah, I agree. Pascal isn't getting a rematch (at least not right away).
Bhop has made it public for years that he dislikes fighting outside the U.S. He went up to Montreal to chase the belt- and for the purse Pascal gives him in that market.
But now that's Bhop's the champ, he's in the catbird seat.

I think the Bute fight still happens in Montreal. That is where it makes the most money. Hopkins isn't a big seller in the States.

A fight I would love to see would be with Froch. He always brings it. Next summer in Wimbley or even where Manchester Utd play. They are begging for a big fight there and Froch is their best guy unless Haye pulls a miracle out this July.

Froch and Hopkins just makes me laugh at the trash talking that would go on. Both aren't afraid to push the issue.

The question is if Hopkins stays active can McNabb take the constant verbal abuse every 5 months? McNabb seems to get it as much as Hopkins opponents every time he fights.

So true. Remember Bhop to Joppy: "You just signed your death warrant.", "I want his life."
And then he told Pascal he was going to give him a "Joppy-style" beatdown. Too funny.

I know Pascal isn't getting the rematch but the fans wouldn't be disappointed, I wouldn't either. Pascal has some serious power.. He rocked B-hop a couple times last night.. all i'm saying... I havn't seen Bute fight yet, but i've definetly heard about the guy..

Need to check out Bute. Has some pretty good all around skills. His flaws only make him more enjoyable to watch as he can sometimes get dragged into a slug fest when he should just box. I am not sure there is a fighter who throws a more devastating body punch having taken out a couple of recent foes that way. His uppercut vs Miranda was a thing of beauty as well.

I actually hope B-Hop doesn't fight him now even though its a solid fight. Too many other great fights to be made and I want to see 168 settle who is the best and the winner of Bute/Kessler - Ward/Froch/Johnson can fight B-Hop if he gets past Dawson.

If Hopkins can beat Dawson and the eventual 168 champion he will have solidified himself as the best fighter of this generation bar none. 20 middleweight title defenses and twice proved he is the best above that weight by becoming the lineal champion at 175. Also outlasting all his conquers in Taylor, Calzaghe and Jones.

I like how you sum'd that up on the end.. Yeah, I don' think Dawson can beat Bernard Hopkins.. Maybe, if he keeps Bernard at bay... with you know? the jab
