I guess I'm still a child of the 60's, or maybe I've mellowed as I've gotten older. Maybe I've seen how personal attacks have ruined so much of our lives from business to pollitics. But I just felt compelled to speak up.
Disclaimer, these are my opinions and I'm not looking for confirmation, just getting this off my chest.
Most of us on this site are hardcore sports nuts. We are passionate about our sports, teams and palyers. There's nothing wrong with that. To me, we cross the line when we make it personal. Let me give you some examples from my perspective. I don't like the Miami Heat. Don't like the way certian players manipulated the system to get what they wanted. I want to see ANY team take them out. But I'm not going to stoop to the level of besmirching those players or their families. I'm not going to question their manhood, their religios beliefs or their sexual orientation. I'm just not interested in that stuff. I want to see them beaten fair and square on the field of battle.
I'm a big NASCAR fan. There are a couple of drivers I just don't like. There have been others that I didn't like in the past and they've won me over with their efforts, humanity or personality. So things can change if you open up to seeing how others grow as well.
As a die hard Cowboy fan, I used to hate (with a passion) the Eagles, Giants and Redskins. Now I realize that the Cowboys wouldn't be who they are without them. The stronger they are, the stronger the Cowboys need to be!
So bottom line, if you see me on here or in TDs, expect a serious discussion and passionate argument. But it won't get personal or vindictive because it's just not productive or appropriate. You can be passionate without being hatefu, there's enough of that in the world without me adding to it!

I'll throw my support in too UBP, even if you didn't as or need it. I've been around less then a year and some of the stuff I have seen is just ridiculous, or reDONKulous for some. Yes we all have drivers, teams, sports, etc. we don't like, but that doesn't mean we have to wish horrible things on them or their supporters. I have no problem if your opinion is different then mine, in fact I prefer that because it offers a different perspective that maybe I hadn't considered. The sad part is that this "Winner Take All, Compromise Is Defeat, Other Opinions Don't Matter" is becoming more and more relevant in our society and common decency is falling to the wayside.
