The Cardinals went into last sundays game at 5-5 one game out of the NFC West facing a 49ers team that lost 8 in a row and last in offensive production. The fans felt good coming into this game. The players sounded hyped. Things looked great. We score on the opening drive. And then the mistakes happened. Warner kills me. I love the guy and I hate the guy. Sometimes he tries to force a pass into coverage and gets picked off, but on the next drive he will drive the team down the field and score. The defense that was so hyped going into last week lays an egg against the 9ers. Ben Patrick gets his first NFL receptions and Touchdowns, but then gets 2 crucial penalties in over time to help lose the game. Neil freaking Rackers set up for an EASY field goal to win the game in OT and depite the delay of game penalty, the field goal was only 32 yards and Rackers misses wide left. WIDE left. He has the worse completion percentage in the NFL at 65%. Rackers MUST go. NOW!!!!!!! Mike Barr has been awful all year and had a horrible punt in OT of 17 yards. He had a net yardage of 18.7 yards per kick in the game. WTF?! We are in our own 2 yard line and we decide to throw?! No wonder Warner got sacked and fumbled! I cant blame that on Warner at all, that is just piss poor play selection. When you are hammered deep in your own endzone you run that **** up the gut and try to get some breathing room! I mean come on Edge was averaging 4 to 6 yards per carry! RUN THAT **** UP THE GUT!!!!!!!!! Gah!!!!
Then the bad news piles up. Eric Green is out for the year. Adrian Wilson is out for the year. Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald are playing hurt. Kurt Warner is playing hurt. I wouldnt be surprised if Edge is banged up with the horrible blocking he has had all year. We've already lost Bertrand Berry. We've lost Chike Okeafor. Lost Oliver Ross. Lost Eric Green. Lost A-Dub. Aaron Francisco looks to be done. We have third stringers starting in our secondary! THIRD STRINGERS! And I know injuries are a part of the game. Rams fans know this all too well. So do 9ers fans and Seahawks fans. But the difference is that the Seahawkws are gelling well despite the injuries. At 7-4 I dont see the Seahawks losing the division.
All that said, is this the Same Ol Cardinals? Im not so sure!! When the Cardinals were 3-2 we were feeling great. Then the Cardinals lose 3 in a row to Carolina, Washington, and Tampa Bay! And in our minds we were beginning to think well the wheels are falling off and the season is over at 3-5. But the Cardinals responded by winning 2 in a row against Detroit and Cinci. How will the Cardinals respond after this heartbreaking loss? Will we win and go back to 6-6 and compete for the final wildcard spot? This cardinals team is different from teams past. Prior Cards teams would have given up at 3-5 and we wouldnt even be thinking playoffs or wildcard spots. But here we are, after a heartbreaking loss and 5-6 on the year and we gotta see how this team reponds. Will they, despite the many injuries on defense, be able to step up against the gunslinging Cleveland Browns team? Its exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time! I still believe in the Cards, but man this isnt good for my heart! It feels like the 98 Cardiac Cards all over again. This team as far better than any team we have had in years past. Lets see if they can get past all the injuries on defense and hopefully someone will step up! CMON CARDINALS!!!!!!!!
P.S.- I really dislike Neil Rackers.
P.P.S.- REALLY dislike.
