Hockey is a violent sport, but I've found hockey fans to be some of the kindest and most compassionate individuals around.

With that in mind, I'm letting you know that the Columbus Blue Jackets ECHL affiliate, the Elmira Jackals, were in an accident, and their bus driver had to be taken to the hospital.

I just spoke to the Jackals GM, a man by the name of Robbie Nichols, and he says the team is currently exploring ways to set up a collection for the bus driver's medical expenses.

Until then, he says if you send letters or donations to the team care of Ken Nance, the club will make sure they are directed where they need to go.

With the holidays coming up, it's a tough this time of year to find extra cash lying around, but we can all send our thoughts and prayers out to everyone in the Jackals organization!
