Did you know that there is an investigative reporter for Local 10 Miami News named Rad Berky? Yeah.

On to the picks. As always, I get my number from sportsbook.com. Home team in CAPS.

TITANS(-3.5) over Texans: Without Albert Haynseworth this Titans defense is really not that great, eh? Buuuuut the Texans aren't really ever good. I think next year with some solid draft picks and some creative trades the Texans can be decent. They have Williams at end, Schaub is growing, Johnson is strong, and Owen Daniels is going to be a very good tight end next year. The AFC south is going to be a real force next year.

Jaguars(+6.5) over COLTS: This is a more important game than the Packers at Cowboys to me. The AFC playoff picture can be turned on its head this weekend with a Jags victory, a Steelers loss, and a Browns win. Which isn't impossible by any stretch of the imagination. And the team that wins the AFC South will likely be the 2 seed while the team that finishes second will probably drop to the 5 seed. That's a big deal. The Jags are coming on strong, but they sometimes suffer from the Steelers syndrome where they play great three out of four weeks a month. But the Colts are really banged up and haven't had that same swagger we're used to them having this time each year. I don't see them losing in the RCA dome, but I like the Jags to keep it close.

Chargers(-5.5) over CHIEFS: Norv Turner vs. Herm Edwards. I mean, really. You think the quarterback situation in this league is dire. Somehow Norv is 6-5 with Ladanian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates. And Herm opted to go for a fourth-and-two from the Raiders 30 last week down by only 3. I don't get it.

Falcons(+3) over RAMS: When in doubt, take the points.

DOLPHINS(-1) over Jets: Shoot me.

VIKINGS(-4) over Lions: When the Lions were 6-2, Jon Kitna was laughing all the way to the communion line. Now they're 6-5 and it looks like Kitna's prediction of a 10-win season is teetering on the brink.

EAGLES(-3) over Seahawks: Are you ready to live in a world where A.J. Feeley nearly knocks off the Patriots and is summarily replaced by an ailing Donovan McNabb in Philly? I'm not. If Donovan hauls off and has even a mediocre first half, we might see Feeley come in off the bench. I get the feeling that Philly is getting itself prepared for it's post-Donovan days.

REDSKINS(-5.5) over Bills: On a normal week, I love this line. Everybody wants to crown the Bills as a "decent" team because they went from 0-3 to 5-4. But nobody remembers that they won those five games against the Jets, Ravens, Jets (again), Bengals, and the Dolphins. This isn't a good team. This is a bad team that knows how to beat worse teams. And the Redskins, by my estimation, are either the fourth or fifth best team in the NFC. But there's no telling how the Skins are going to come out after all they've been through this week. Stay away. Stay faaaarrrr away.

PANTHERS(-3) over 49ers: The Panthers have been bad, but the Niners have been Notre Dame bad.

Browns(+1) over CARDINALS: I'll let me logic overtake my fandom here. I really think the Cards have a chance, but this game means too much to Cleveland for them to let is slide away. They're young, and in a position where they need to start treating every game as a playoff game. Sometimes a young team plays poorly in these situations due to a lack of experience. Sometimes the young kids don't know what the difference is and play fast and loose and string together some good victories. This is one of those games where they can begin to forge an identity as a legit playoff contender.

RAIDERS(+3.5) over Broncos: Coach Shannahan: DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER!

Giants(-1.5) over BEARS: Coach Coughlin: DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER! Hey, did you hear the Giants GM call Eli out last Sunday after his four-interception clunker? Yeah, so Coughlin becomes a player's coach and the GM steps in and annihilates Manning's confidence in Coughlin's place. It's classic. I smell another crappy finish for the GEEEEeeeeEEE Men. But they get a reprieve this week playing the Chicago Grossmans. Without Hester returning another couple of kicks Sunday the Bears won't make it. Oh yeah, and Coach Coughlin, DON'T KICK TO DEVIN HESTER!

Buccaneers(+3) over SAINTS: I think this is a steal. The Bucs are the third best team in the NFC and the Saints have completely lost their mojo. Brees is playing better, but Big Reg can't seem to run upfield very well. He's turning into an excellent receiver from the backfield, but they need a north-south running game to be successful.

Bengals(+7) over STEELERS: I picked the Steelers to cover the last two weeks, and they scored a combined 19 points against the Jets and the Dolphins. The Bengals will need to win this game and get loads of help to make the playoffs, and they would take great pleasure out of beating the Steelers at home. I'm hoping this one isn't close, but I can't help but think it will be. Hopefully Polamalu and Holmes are back to give the Steelers some speed. And I like Willie to have a strong game.

Patriots(-20) over RAVENS: I feel foolish even typing that. Taking a 20 point favorite ON THE ROAD? This team has me questioning everything.

8-8 last week
49-48-2 since week 6.
