I just got home from the New Jersey Non Public Group 4 state championship game between the St. Peter's Prep Mauraders and the Don Bosco Prep Ironmen. Both of these teams have history together being against each other in many state championship games including the last three. Also both teams have had great players over the years, with St. Peter's having Will Hill(Florida) this year and Shariff Harris(Pittsburgh) last year. The Marauders have had great teams but the Ironmen have had some great players including Ryan Grant(Packers), Matt Simms(Louisville), Mike Teel(Rutgers), and Brian Toal(Boston College).

Entering the game it was going to be close, Will "The Thrill" Hill is almost unstoppable and showed it in the first half. He lead his team down the field three times in the first half, two were fumbles(one by Hill) and one incredible run by Hill. He was running to the right on a QB keeper and he got hit but was able to break the tackle and go to the left where nobody could catch him. That put St. Peter's up 7-0 and with a little over a minute to go Brett Kneiff the QB at Don Bosco led his team down the field and scored with :05 left in the half, he threw a about 30 yard out pattern to senior Steve Proscia(commited to UVA for baseball) and that tied it up. The Ironmen went down the field 3 times as well as Peters and also fumbled (both by junior Dillon Romaine). Romain though made up for them with a run on the last drive that put them in field goal range and three plays later they were in the end zone.

During the second half the game got out of hand. Will Hill was constantly tested on a bad leg, which he injured during the early third quarter and came out in the fourth. The game was taken over by a sophmore running back from Don Bosco Prep, Tony Jones. Tony Jones got significant playing time last season as a freshman and he is incredibly fast with great moves. He scored 4 TDs in the second half including a TD on a fake punt that was directed to Proscia and he handed it to Tony who ran right threw the middle and made a move that made me shake at the 10 yd. line as he went in. He ran for easily over 100 yds. and is going to be the next great Bosco player. There were plenty of great prospects including Romaine who ended up with a good game, Kneiff who is a dual threat QB and can beat almost any HS defense with his legs or arm, Jones, and many defensive players including senior Nick Mastreta, junior Nick Vetterline, Proscia(CB,WR), and others.

The Don Bosco Prep Ironmen won 42-14 with Will Hill scoring on TD with his legs and one with a long TD pass that was placed perfectly over the DB secondary. For the Ironmen Jones had 4 TDs, Kneiff threw for 1TD, Romaine ran for 1 TD, and Proscia scored on an interception of Hill. The game included some of the best players in their respective grades throughout the country.
