The NHL Mock Draft Database
has completed its first consensus tally. The Database lists a total of
39 NHL mock drafts. It is the largest and oldest NHL Mock Database on
the Internet, the original! To come up with a consensus of what the
latest NHL mock writers are thinking, we munched together all mocks
updated between 6/9/2011 and 6/19/2011. That is a total of 17 mock
drafts.
Much like previous years with Taylor Hall and John Tavarez, and Steve Stamkos, the NHL Database has not just a consensus #1 pick, but a unanimous #1 pick. The unanimous #1 pick to go to the Edmonton Oilers to join Taylor Hall is Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Not hard to figure out why. Edmonton needs defense. However, Nugent-Hopkins is a special talent that some have dared to compare to the great Wayne Gretzky. All 17 of the most updated mock drafts believe the Oilers will attempt to make him the next Gretzky in Edmonton. He will obviously for a pretty formidable line with fellow #1 pick from last year, Taylor Hall.
Here are the rest of Top 8 picks and the percentage of mocks projecting each in their respectable slot.
