This NBA Draft might have lacked a lot of marquee talent, but it certainly was exciting with more trades than I can remember. It was a crazy night, and myself and Brady Ford give you our opinions on every pick from the first round as it happened with a running diary.

John Mitchell: Welcome to mine and Brady Ford's running diary of the 2011 NBA Draft. We're about 20 minutes away from Cleveland being on the clock. Brady, can you remember a draft that has been this unpredictable?

Brady Ford: I cannot. With the slim disparity in talent between guys 3 through 8 or so, every pick after 2 is a toss-up at best, and even the top-2 isn't set in stone. Some are suggesting Kemba Walker could drop out of the lottery.  Do you think this will happen?  Should it?

Mitchell: I can't see with the potential that Kemba Walker has, that he will fall out of lottery. It definitely shouldn't happen. We had Kemba mocked 5th to the Raptors, and while that seems unlikely now, I can't see him falling completely out of the top 14. We've already had one draft day trade with the Bucks, Bobcats, and Kings pulling a three-way deal. What are your thoughts on the trade?

Ford: I agree with you on Kemba. As for the trade, I like it from Milwaukee's end.  They get rid of some bad contracts, pick up the best player in the trade in Captain Jack, and still get the 19th pick, where a talented wing like Alec Burks or Jordan Hamilton could fall to them. I don't like it for the Kings. I view Salmons as more of an albatross with his contract than an asset.  What did you think of it?

Mitchell: I agree that it was a pretty solid move for Milwaukee. I guess the Bobcats have decided to blow it up, and completely start over though the draft. They traded away Gerald Wallace midseason, and now they've dealt away Stephen Jackson. Anyway, we're closing in on the start of the draft. Do you think Kyrie is the #1 pick, and should he be?

Ford: Yes and yes. I have far more confidence in Irving than any other prospect. Irving didn't play a ton at Duke, but when he did, he was arguably the best player in the nation. And this was in November. Former Coach Cal freshman phenom guards like Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans, and John Wall did not look like lottery material in their first month of college basketball.
