Monday Night - Week 14
I'm convinced, the Patriots ARE vampires and that Tom Brady is Count Dracula himself. They drink the blood of the living by night (can you name their last day game) and rest by day. These vampires have, 3 times in their last 4 games, been cornered, ready to be dispatched and yet no one has been able to finish the job.
Brian Van Helsing Bellick prepared his Raven slayers well, bathed in holy water and reeking of garlic they made the Patriots wince and recoil as they rolled forward like an avenging force. With 10:37 remaining until sun-up, slayer Boller made the first critical error when his stake was intercepted by James Sanders a 3rd year vampire (out of Fresno State).
There are those that say that many have fallen under the spell of the Count and his minions and that they will assist them in their immortal quest. It matters not for only when victory over Dracula and his coven are claimed will the world be safe for more mortal teams.
How do you beat them...WHEN and IF you get the chance, drive a stake through their heart and if you fail they surely will come back to life.
The Ravens played with fire and passion. They drove the Patriots off both lines, ran at will and generally thwarted the Patriots offense. Randy Moss and Wes Welker were well contained. When the Patriots scored, the Ravens retaliated with a score. They made the Pats defense, especially the linebackers, look old and slow. Only when the Pats gambled by chocking the box with 8 defenders did they stop McGahee and had the Ravens gone back to a short passing game they might have prevailed.
If the Patriots do go undefeated I believe that we'll remember the close games like this one against the Ravens or the Eagles or Colts as the highlights of the season. Do you even remember the last team that they blew out and the score? Ultimately the Patriots will to win is the real story of this team.
Congratulations to the New England Vampires. There are still several sun rises for them to suirvive this season.
