It has just come to my attention that Billy King who has been with the organization since 1997 has been fired. The Sixers are 5-12, and are last in the Atlantic Division, but didn't King hint out that this was a rebuilding year? Did he not mention his three year rebuilding plan? I know he's had some bad decisions, but point out a GM that hasn't. Is it his fault that some players have not lived up to expectations or up to their huge contracts? Could he assess talent a bit better? Maybe, but who would have thought that Chris Webber was going to be a bust in Philly? He didn't. Well he fired Tom'O Brien after a playoff appearance, but really I don't think he's been all that bad. AI couldn't win a championship, but trading him was the right thing to do. So all in all, there's no way I saw this coming. But if Ed Stefanski can do better, I certainly welcome the change.
