Insider's are reporting that E.S.P.N. is talking about not bringing Emmitt Smith back as an analyst next year.I must say, this sadden's me to no end.I for one think that he is the funniest guy to watch on the pre-game show.I can think of nobody that makes me laugh harder at his ineptnitude and downright mangling of the broadcast other than maybe Skip Bayless and that horror show a few year's back with Dennis Miller and his over our head biblical and greek tragedy crap.I don't blame Emmitt for this,and my hat is off to him for collecting a paycheck,hey if E.S.P.N. doesn't give out I.Q. test's,that's their problem.I have compiled a few gem's from Emmitt's broadcast's,and away we go.
1.About the Cowboy's:"If you want to stay perfect,you cannot go undefeated,with a blemish on your record".
2.About Green Bay's Donald Driver:"Tonight he is looking to get back to paydirt,so he can right size the ship right now".
3.About Cowboy's Quarterback Tony Romo:"He has the mentality,to have the sense to make the play".
4.When asked to summerize his thought's in two word's about the Cowboy's having that many interceptions,in another game,other than the one they just played against the Bill's (Remember two word's) his response "Cowboy's lose, big-time"
5.When discussing whether the Steeler's have a chance against the Patriot's:"This kind of inconsitency play,against a team like New England,will get you completely blowed out"
In closing,i will say there have been worse than Emmitt by far,but he amuses me to no end,he will only get better with practice,but let's not hope too soon,he makes me laugh like no other.

Everybody talks about his escape goat..so what? you knew what he meant. He's asked to sound really professional about ananlyzing useless-to-viewer crap like cover 2 defenses and 4-minute offenses, but he should be asked just to give his honest opinion. He's usually right about who's going to win and why, but everyone trashes him because he doesn't know how to articulate an emotional status of a quarterback to the audience?
Steve Young comes off as a p-uss and worries to much about the intangibles, and Jaws makes me wither want to sleep with his disection of the play, or puke from all his Brady man love.

The only thing that could make listening to Emmitt better than it already is, would be to have him and Shannon Sharpe together, and maybe Terry Bradshaw, too. Maybe in a PTI-type format. God, that would rock! Nice one, man.
