Another fight another phony decision. Last night Paul Williams spent 12 rounds getting hishead bashed in by Erislandy Lara. The fight was so one sided that HBO's unnoficial scorer thought it was 10 rounds to 2 for Lara. The 3 HBO announcers thought it might have been 11-1. Then we went to the scorecard. One judge Al Bennett had it a draw. The other two criminals (Hilton Whitaker &Don Givens: remember those names) both gave it to Williams!

HBO's Max Kellerman called it "incompetent judging". The 3 announcers were waiting for the referee to stop the fight & saying Williams should retire. Even Williams trainer was telling him in the corner that he was losing & needed a knockout & Williams was heard saying "yeah, I know".

This was not "incompetent judging". This was a total ripoff. It was money changing hands because some people want a third Williams-Martinez fight. Roy Jones mentioned after the fight that he has experience in this. Yes he does. In the 1988 Seoul Olympics He beat the you-know-what out of a Korean fighter & guess who got the decision? That's when scoring in the Olympics changed & soon afterwards Olympic boxing went from prime time to afternoons on cable. Meanwhile because of this garbage pro boxing has lost to UFC.

That's why there should be a commisioner. Heck, Howard Cosell was agitating for that decades ago! John McCain (an ex-boxer) has said the same thing, but does anybody listen? Nope, too much money, too many bribes. These 3 judges should be banned for life, there should be an investigation. Remember: this fight was in a gambling town, so lot's of money was involved. I'd love to see jail time involved, but it won't because again: money will change hands.
