Welcome back to the second round of my music gems. We're taking a trip into Indie Rock/Pop and listening to five of the many songs that I'm jammin' out to currently.
The first song comes off of an album I just bought today, which is fantastic. Comes off the Sidewalks album which was released in November of 2010 by Matt & Kim.
This next song comes from a band that just recently released their debut album, Illumination, which came out in August of 2010. Miami Horror.
While this video isn't going to be exciting, or really do anything except show the cover art to the album Saturdays = Youth, this is another great song from a great band. Song came out as a single in 2008, and then in the album a month later.
This song is from a all-woman band. While some people might turn away in disgust just at the thought, like I've seen happen many times before, you shouldn't miss this band if you're a fan of indie rock/pop. Warpaint is an excellent band, with an excellent name, might I add. This song came off an October 2010 production, The Fool.
For my final song, I'm going to give you a song off of Within and Without by Washed Out. The album debuted just recently, as in this month.

Interesting group of songs - kind of reminded me of the electronica from the 80's with Depeche Mode, Soft Cell and Pet Shop Boys. Not my cup of tea (blues based rock, jazz) but well done stuff.

Funny you mention those bands. I agree. "Tainted Love" was going through my head by about the 3rd video in. Definitely some type of Duran Duran/Psychadelic Furs vibe to these tunes ( with maybe a few Moby tricks mixed in).
Interesting stuff, Dyhard.

I've heard that Matt & Kim song before - never saw the video though. Very clever, which is rare.
Definitely I would agree with the other comments - a real 80's sort of alternative-type vibe going on. But pleasant music for the right mood.
