The world of poker lost one of its most beloved and celebrated players today. David "Chip" Reese passed away from pneumonia at the age of 56. As someone who has played and followed poker for many many years, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Chip's family and friends. Chip leaves behind a legacy of excellence, sportsmanship and humility in the way he played poker and lived life. He was never outspoken or bragadocious; he just did what he loved to do, and win or lose he did it with a warm smile. In 2006 Chip received the recognition he rightfully deserved when he won the $50,000 HORSE championship at the WSOP, the tournament that carries the highest respect among peers. I'm glad Chip got the chance to shine on the grand stage because he earned it. Rest in peace Mr. Reese; the poker world will never forget you.
