I just got through watching Band of Brothers for the 10th time through and The Pacific for the 2nd timeime through. Both are out standing series that tell the stories of the Soldiers that faught in Europe and the Pacific.
I'm having a hard time deciding which one I like better. Both are obviously great stories, both have a great cast and the Acting is superb and the music for musical scores for both are awesome.
Here are a couple of clips: the opening scores
Now Here are the Trailers:
Ok I hope these pop up properly or I'll have to do this over.
If you have seen both of these I'm sure you are having a hard time deciding between the 2. Let me know which one you may have liked better.

Both where great. Not sure which one I like better either but I tend to lean towards Pacific for two reasons.
1) In Pacific the actors actually look like kids in their early 20s like most of them where and not guys in their middle 30s. Great acting in both but to me the guys in Band of Brothers looked a little old to me.
2) Loved the cinematography [not sure if I am using this word right] of Pacific a little better. Band of Brothers is sort of screwed here since it took place in dreary Europe instead of the Pacific. I just loved the shots of the boats in the blue water and the contrasting colors they did in those shots.

Both are excellent series. But why again is this on a sports site? Just curious.

Band of Brothers is much better. Take for example the entire 3rd episode of The Pacific, where they spend the entire time in Australia pretty much focused on one guy and his relationship to a girl -- this episode encompasses 10 months of the war in 1943.

Because it's posted on his profile page and he can blog whatever he wants on there.
I'll go with the Pacific...my Grandfather served in the the Pacific so it kind of makes me think what it was like for him...minus the Hollywood influence of course.

Both were awesome, but I'll vote for Band of Brothers. I liked the story more, and Winters and Speirs are Grade A badasses.

If you ask a veteran of the Pacific or Europe they are going to say their war is what they know. But neither is better or worse. The truth is the Battle of Midway was the turning point. If we had not defeated the Japanese there in June 1942, the west coast would have been threatened with invasion. President Roosevelt could not then have taken the "Europe First" strategy.

My pick is the Pacific. For the Story and the Music and heck I'll even say the Acting

Enjoyed them both. But I got much more into the characters in Band Of Brothers. Many of the actors looked too similar in The Pacific, and the screenwriters had too many parallel storylines going on. Band Of Brothers followed one company the whole time.

Neither, Generation Kill is the best. Mainly cause I served in Iraq and can relate to the whole series. "Stay Frosty"
Brady does it

I absolutely loved Band of Brothers and Generation Kill, but when it came to the Pacific I was disappointed. I suppose Band of Brothers was easier to portray though since in the Pacific the battlefields were more confusing and you didn't really know where anything was coming from. I would have preferred if they broke the series into separate little mini ones of the 3 different characters rather then overlap the different stories of different people that didn't know each other. I liked how in band of brothers you got to know that people better and you saw them grow and interact more.

Pacific came off as a money grab trailing on the success of Band of Brothers...

however, that doesn't mean Pacific isn't the 2nd best mini-series of all time....behind Band of Brothers...
