This is my next installment of weekly blogs for DP&S.
Like always, I'm not gonna be too lon winded. Just a video and a brief description of the song.
And again, like always, Internet Explorer messes up my keyboard, so if I miss a few letters or some spaces don't register, don't pay them any mind.
I would love your feedback be it positive or negative.
I'm going down a different road this week. I've covered drinking songs, prison songs and Rodeo songs. It's not gonna be such a macho topic this week.
Let's get back to the basics of love, this week's topic is love sons. Some of the best love songs in Country music history.
Hope you enjoy reading, and I hope you comment telling me how you felt about my post.
Starting things off,
I'd Love To Lay You Down- Conway Twitty
I don't make a list before I post, I just list the songs that come up in my head, and chances are this won't be the lastCo song on this blog. Conway was the king of love songs. This song is about how he'll love his wife no matter how old she gets or what she looks like.
Next up,
You Make it Look so Easy- Eric Church
This son is about a man who is hard to love, hard to live with, has a hard head, and is stubborn as a mule, but his wife makes loving him look so easy, and how she's the glue that holds his life together.
Next,
When You Say Nothing At All- Keith Whitley or Allison Kraus
When I think of love songs, this is one of the first ones that always comes up. The title tells it all. They can tell their prtner loves them even if theysay nothing at all. I only posted the Keith Whitley version, but Allison Kraus has an excellent version of this song as well.
Next,
You're My Best Friend- Don Williams
This is a song about a strong love between a man and a woman, but through all the years they spent together, they are still best friends.
Next,
Chiseled In Stone- Vern Gosdin
This song is about a man who just got in an argument with his wife, so he goes to the bar, where an old man told him his story, which convinced him to buy his wife some flowers and go back home.
Next,
Brand New Man- Brooks and Dunn
This one with a faster pace. This song is about how a wild and rowdy guy was settled down by the love of a woman.
Last, but not least
I Get Carried Away- George Strait
I try to make my list 7 songs long, so I had a tough time choosing between several songs to include here. I think George Strait nees to be on this blog, and Waylon's love songs aren't th reason he's my favorite singer, I thought this would be a good song to close out with. The song is pretty much a an getting blown away by the love shown by his wife.
Thanks for reading.
Next weeks topic, Love that went wrong songs.

I like both versions, but I've always been a big fan of Keith Whitley, which is why I posted his video, plus his was the original.

Thanks for the post. Some neat music. I'll readily admit that I don't really like love songs, but it was a neat musical experience.

Got Waylon on your avatar, quoted "let's get back to basics of love" and you didn't put up Luckenbach, Texas? Never have been able to post a video th a comment so here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dXR5Dk8YNw

Actually, I didn't quote Luckenbach, Texas in the title. I quoted Jeff Bates', "Love Song."
But, I figured most everybody has heard Luckenbach, Texas, I try to post songs a lot of people haven't heard.

Nice selection UH.
Definitely I would recommend checking out the Allison Kraus version of When You Say Nothing At All, to add in a female touch.
