Let me start out by saying that I am a Steelers fan.
Now...having said that, I'm am already crying in my beer. Anthony Smith, a safety with the Steelers, has "guaranteed" a win over the Pats this Sunday.
Ben, Troy, Willie...somebody...PLEASE stuff a sock in his mouth, put duct tape over it, toss him in a corner shower, WHATEVER you feel is appropriate...but do NOT let him talk until after Sunday's game. Do NOT let him anywhere near anyone remotely resembling any type of media personnel.
This never works. NEVER. The guy issuing the "guarantee" looks like a blowhard egomanical jerk. The team playing against the "guaranteed win" gets their nose bent out of shape and has something to prove. But most importantly, the "guaranteed win" almost always turns into an "actual loss". Karma is funny that way.
Listen. The only guarantee in life is that if you stop breathing, you are going to die. Players, please...for the love of all that is holy...stop issuing guarantees.
