I can't help but feel like all those Washington politicians who have their speeches recorded for the home folks, but when the camera pans the House or Senate chamber there is no one there. I speak, but is anyone listening? Who cares? If you can't use the internet to shout 'I am here' then it's only good for checking out porn scores. And even that gets boring after a time.

I don't get nearly as excited about sports now as I used to. Most (baseball, basketball, hockey, golf, tennis) bore me to distraction. Football is still watchable (except on The NFL Channel, of course), and NASCAR has kept me occupied for about 10 years now. But even my interest in racing is waning. The NASCAR Cup champion for the last two years is one of the biggest cheaters in the sport and virtually no one mentions it. It's getting old. I know I'm starting to sound like Louis Jordan as Gaston Lachaille, so I'll stop.

My only regular contribution to Fannation is at The 10 Spot. The 'irreverent' treatment of sports there is right up my alley. A good blog and a good group of posters. We have fun there. Of course since I am retired I am on my own time while most of the rest of the group are at work. I'm jealous. I would have loved to be able to fritter away the hours AND be paid. Oh well, one can only say, 'what might have been.'

Rick - a collection of large guns, or a large collection of guns?

Rick, you have the most comments on your own blog.

I have to agree with you Rick regarding NASCAR. The officials have taken all the enjoyment out of it. Here they are worrying about a rolled up T-shirt on the racetrack, all the while basically "allowing" Heroin use by drivers with NO SHOW of alarm??? I think a lot of fans will become FORMER FANS now that this is out in the open and they don't seem to give a rip. I can't even imagine what the drivers are thinking !!! Under the influence at 200 mph, Y I K E S !!!

Rick, The frittering is nice, but I can't wait to be retired so this golf thing can happen every day.

I would agree with all the previous posters, BUT I didn't read their words! Nice Blog Rick, Have a Good One! LOL
