Detroit, San Diego and Chicago are the only teams to beat Oakland by more than ten points this season. Today, the Raiders get 10.5 points from the Packers.
The Raiders have won two games in a row and seem to have found a good running game with Justin Fargas who ran for over 130 yards in each of the past two weeks.
The Raiders seem to be playing with great energy lately, perhaps because their star draft pick, JaMarcus Russell is starting to make appearances on the field, which he is expected to do again today.
The Packers have proven to be a tough team all season with an especially tough defense and I would expect to see the same today.
Still, I think the Raiders will play a solid game and hang right in there, maybe even pull an upset in a close finish.
They believe they can win and more importantly the want to win, so the underdog Raiders are the pick here today with the 10.5 points.
One other factor that plays in their favor is that Oakland is from the AFC and the Packers are NFC. AFC tends to be better than NFC most of the time.
Don't take the Raiders in this one because of Brett Favre's injury situation. Always assume Favre will play like Favre.
