I sit here and I read comment after comment on how other schools suck and shouldn't get to play in this bowl or that bowl. I dont actually get it, has this site become more about hating other teams, because of our own insecurities about our own? I see some, but not very many stating the love for their chosen team, which is great and I have no problem with that. Cheer for your team, argue your points to back up your opinion. Just do it intelligently.
Being bitter about someone else's team isn't fun and is definatly not interesting or entertaining to read. I mean we are all on here to support our teams, trades some jabs with our rivals, and get some interesting perspective on the world of sports from everyday guys, not big media bs.
I'm struggling to get acorss what I'm thinking here, maybe I should just dumb it down a touch, and stop trying to be PC. Dont't be mad or hate a team or player because they did what your's failed to do. Try and talk about your team in a good light instead of putting more fuel on the hatred fire by saying you love x team and everyone else sucks...I mean cmon obviously they don't or they wouldn't be in that situaiton..(I'm guilty of this too on occasion, but do rips on ND count anymore? j/k. Irish fans)
I'm an OSU fan, I respect teams from all other conferences and regions, there are always going to be differences in styles of play and opinions, but isn't that what makes football great and gives us amazing games we might never see otherwise? UGA/Hawaii, who knows, we all have our thoughts, but what if?
I'm not going to sit here and break down all the games, which some of you have and have done a great job! I think we all should be supportive of our team and home conference and cheer for them, but the bitter hatred??? Why?? So your team isn't in the big game..that doesn't make LSU a villain for getting there, does it?
Anyway I'm rambling, so to close Love your team, Hate your rival, but try not to insult athlete's doing what most of us have dreamed of...Tebow is an amazing athlete and deserving or not of the award he got it and should be proud, like wise with the NC game, deserving or not the two teams aren't going to change and neither will give up the trophy when its all said and done. So save the bitterness and hate, it won't do you any good to spew it.

Gotta agree. I love my team (Michigan) but some of the people here that are friends of mine are Ohio State fans, yourself included.
Gotta admit, I'm not perfect. I said some pretty mean things about the Fighting Irish and their fans, for which I have since publically apologized.

I'm an ND fan. I'm used to it. I've said things about SC. I've said things about Tebow. I don't like either. Hatred is a part of sports. ND fans take and give it. Every team does.

I agree with IrishR#1. Whatever team you like, you are going to get someone that hates your team. It is part of sports. Every team has that. The Packers even have that. Yankees, Red Sox, Brewers, Cubs, Angels, Dodgers, Devil Rays, Marlins, every team. There is not one team in sports that no one dislikes.

Good blog. I wish more felt like you. I get the feeling that the average age of Fannation members is getting lower each day. That's great. But I wish the discourse didn't have to go down as well. It's easy to trash someone or their team from behind a computer screen.

Good blog. I try not to trash teams but sometimes its hard, but I think I do an ok job of that.. The only team I've ever trashed on this site is the Patriots

I agree 100%, too many people just say that a team is no good and have nothing to back it up, I guess we all do it from time to time. That doesn't make it right. I don't know that there is any way to make it stop, but still I agree.
As for the title game, every team that didn't make it lost games that they should have won (everyone but Hawaii), so don't complain that your team didn't get it, just be happy they were considered.

As stated you are more than welcome to hate your rival, just do it with some intelligence...I was just peeved by all mindless comments that come across here...saying OSU sucks or is awful, when that couldn't be further from the truth and everyone knows it whethor they admit or not...
but by all means let UM hatred fly.....
