S l o w d a y in baseball. So this is gonna cover a bit of everything and nothing all at the same time...
Someone do something. Someone call the Twinkies and ask them to pull the bloody trigger on sending Santana some where. Please. Oh, well except maybe the RedSox. They are driving me nuts with a powerhouse of a team and with prospects just falling out all over the place. Honestly, I feel, and think the Yankees would be a good suit. Pettit isn't gonna be there much longer, and they do have a few young studs to take over the reigns, but if anything happened to them, they are so young, they have some growing pains to go through. And I don't think the Yankees are ready to throw the weight or a powerhouse of an organization on those boys. I think Santana is the best fit for them. That and I hate to see Santana go to any other power house team but I think the Yankees are the kinda club to hold him well.
Then I would see Haren skipping the potential D-Backs and Indians trades' scenarios and Haren headed to the RedSox. And that I would like as well. My problem with Santana going to either of those East coast rivals makes the availability of Haren to them huge to counteract the arrival of Santana to their division. And let me tell you... Seeing the Indians not pick up an ace like pitcher this off season will really set my mind at ease for a Tigers dominated AL Central.
I mean the Twinkies know they're gonna trade Santana and not plan to compete for a pennant in the Central. You can bet the Royals are looking forward to a season not being in last place thanks to Ken Williams and the WhiteSox. It's a no brainier for the AL right now, Boston East, Detroit Central, Angels West and it's between the Yankees and the Indians for the Wild Card. And I only say it's between them as they have now picked up an additional ace to the pitching for each perspective club. Who ever does, it's their Wild Card spot to lose.
ESPECIALLY the tribe, those guys, even though I despise them, is no joke or fluke. They have a good squad in every meaning of the word. You cannot write them out, nor the Yankees, but the Yankees have more running against them the Indians. The Indians have pitching and more youth in their line-up. The Indians farm system has prospects coming outta their ears for goodness sake. And these guys are just prospects, some have tasted experience in the Majors and just haven't the room to bring them up to the club for every day.
So I am sorry tribe fans, but I pray this is a heck of a boring off season for you in trades; otherwise it'll be interesting how Detroit and Cleveland play things out over and against each other this coming season. This truly is the rebirth of the AL Central rivalry. Detroit and Cleveland are very competitive with one another on a regular basis but this baseball situation will really fuel the fire now that Cabrera and Willis joined the line-up.
In other news, Gag me heads to the brew crew with his over priced butt. Hello? This man almost blew the whole dream on many occasions for Boston. Now- I know the Brewers are stronger from it in an already weird butt division but Gagne is hardly Cordero. Not really even worth mentioning in the same breath honestly. I feel bad mentioning them in the same sentence actually. And the pricing for all this mediocre pitching is unbelievable. What Cordero is being paid? Holy crap! Last time I checked, relievers were a fickle breed that could break or break out at any moment. So why lock anyone up in the relief market for 4 years. The Reds and the White Sox really have to think about what they got themselves into. If they haven't they should look again, cause they just spent a lot of money on someone that probably isn't going to really make that big of an impact on their club. The Reds have a chance but against the brew crew and cubbies this year, I'd say its d@mn slim folks. And as for the White Sox? Lord, seriously, am I asking my self this. Yeah- it's not gonna be pretty my friends. It's gonna be down right terrible. And I have alot of friends who are White Sox fans, I am not just trying to come in here and tear them a new one. But those rings from 05 aren't gonna have any new friends to add to those players other fingers any time soon unless they are traded to a better team.
Well that's all folks. I know I am no professional blogger, this is just my 2nd try, but I am a big baseball fan overall so feel free to comment. I don't take things too personally so even if your mad at any of my views or statements feel free to gripe. I'd rather have to defend myself than no one care at all. Any how, good night, good luck, and go Tigers!
