Tony has welcomed Danica and GoDaddy.com to his stable for 10 races next year.
Is Danica a nonstory or good for the sport?
Danica could bring in a whole new group of fans and could very well start allot of young ladies into racing.
Could very well be interesting to see how NASCAR goes forward from this point with such well known woman running in the series

Danica will bring some interest initially because of the novelty. If she starts finishing in the top 10 the interest may hold. If she actually manages to win a race and the world doesn't come to an end the coverage would be non-stop.

How many women in auto racing has that been said about? As far as success goes, the 2 that had the most were both from Rally, Michelle Muton and Denise McLuggage. There was Shirley and Janet here.
My only problem with Danica is the hype to result ratio. I don't like having mediocrity rammed down my throat. It would be better for her if she flew under the radar until she actually achieved something.

Nah I was thinking Mike Wallace. He's already stated earlier women shouldn't be in the sport. Even put Shawna Robinson in the wall after publicly saying he was going to do it.

Well, IRL has changed (not for the better) since 2005 when Danica was a rookie. In 2005, 17 races, 14 Ovals, 2 Road Courses, 1 Street Circuit .... this year 2011, 17 races, only 7 Ovals, 4 road course, 5 Street Circuits, 1 Airport, ... even this year IRL is running the road course part of the track in Japan where Danica Won on an Oval ;) ...
And Avoidable Contact Fines per the Head of Racing, who restarted a race New Hampshire when it was too WET ....

To be fair Nova the Japan race was supposed to be an oval, but was changed because of earthquake damage to the oval track.
I have said that she would come to Cup where out of 26 races she has 2 "throw away" road courses and still be in contention to win the Championship. In Indy Car you can't win a championship without being good on both.
