In response to:
Who's next on Michigan's list?
Michigan athletic director Bill Martin has interviewed Michigan offense coordinator Mike DeBord and defensive coordinator Ron English, and he has had a conversation with Ball State coach Brady Hoke. But Hoke, a former Michigan assistant, told The News he would not characterize that conversation as an interview. Still, sources with knowledge of the search said Hoke remains a viable candidate, and he has indicated he absolutely would love the opportunity to coach Michigan. Former Minnesota coach Glen Mason currently is not coaching, but he said Tuesday he would like a shot at Michigan. Mason has not yet been contacted by Michigan officials. Sources have said Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe remains on a list of candidates, and the search committee might begin looking into college coordinators for candidates.
Is that not a slap to the faces of Mike DeBord and Ron English? It's been a month since Lloyd announced his retirement, and Bill Martin is only now getting around to interviewing these guys. All the public debate that has taken place about this issue, and internal University debate for that matter, makes it an insult to both coaches to wait this long to officially consider them for the job. Granted, Carr is still officially the head coach, so it's not like they're at the point of having to name even an interim coach...but come on.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic that Lloyd is finally going to be gone, but if he had any class at all he would have waited until after their bowl game to announce his decision. At which point, after private discussions and considerations with AD Bill Martin, a list of possible successors would have already been formulated. But no, this is going to be Lloyd's last f**k you to the University, fans and alumni. Not only does Michigan look ridiculous at this point, but this is going to destroy recruiting for this year...and probably a few to come.
What recruit in their right mind is going to commit to a school that doesn't even know who their head coach is going to be and is being humiliated in the press? I don't care what school it is, that would just be ridiculous.

this whole process is making Michigan look horrible. It long ago turned into a soap opera. All they have to do now is name Fabio head coach and they will have a freakin' best seller on their hands.
