I've been seeing this a lot lately - Tim Tebow is a bust; Tebow will never be a good quarterback.
What a load of horse manure.
The man has played one NFL season. One.
And already people are calling him a bust?
Give me a break. The guy has hardly had a chance to show what he's got, much less learn the system and fundamentals of the position. It is not fair and not accurate to write him off as a bust.
For a little perspective, let's take a look at Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers, by pretty much all accounts, is considered somewhere in the top 3 of all NFL QBs. At this point in his career, Aaron has the highest career QB rating of all time.
But let me show you a couple statistics from the first two season of Aaron Rodgers' career:
2005 season: 39.8 QB rating, 0 total TDs
2006 season: 48.2 QB rating, 0 total TDs
Now let's look at the one season Tebow has played:
2010 season: 82.1 QB rating, 11 total TDs
And people want to write Tebow off as a bust? Wow...
Now I realize that comparing Tebow to Rodgers isn't perfect, because of different styles, mechanics, and systems. I'm not even trying to say that Tebow will one day be as good as Rodgers.
I have no idea how good Tebow will be later on in his career. But neither does anyone else, and that's the point I'm trying to make.
To sum it all up, Tebow has played one year, and it was a pretty good year.
Where he goes from here, no one knows.
So stop calling him a bust!!!
