I'll start at the beginning. Beckham decided to come to America. Everybody's all excited, woo-who! Beckham's going to make soccer famous! The Galaxy sign him a multi- million dollar deal to do wonders. Guess what he did? Injured himself almost as soon as he signed the contract.
When he came back from the injury, everybody was excited again. In the first game, he had one assist and one goal. One good game. Big whoop! The rest of the season, he did near to nothing. Galaxy missed the play-offs, and Beckham let down America.
But that's not the end of the story. His national team, the British, are a world-wide power house. Usually. They made to the semi- finals of the Olympic qualifications, and then, they benched Beckham. Coming off the bench, Beckham had one assist. They lost. And missed the Olympics.
BUSTED! Beckham: bust.

Beckham is not a bust. A bust is someone who doesn't benefit the game at all.
I've said for years that Beckham sucks, but I've supported him coming to America. He's done what I was hoping for- brought attention to soccer in this country.
Because of that, he is not a true bust.

The point of him coming to US soccer was to make it more popular and bring attention to it. And by writing this blog helps prove my point the MLS is getting more attention just because he is hear. The Galaxy sold out many games, as did many teams that they played due to Beckham. Therefore even though he is not a great player any more he did what he was supposed to do, and brought more attention to the MLS. Bust...I say mild success at the least.
