I was watching the Steelers/Patriots game with my wife on Sunday. I am a life long Steelers fan, while she is just a Steelers fan by marriage. As the Patriots were extending their lead against my team, my wife offered up her opinion on Tom Brady.
“He’s like the pretty boy rich kid who always gets what he wants.”
My wife is a casual sports fan at best, so when she has an opinion on a subject, I’m always amused as to why she thinks the way she does. She went on to explain that Brady looks better than all of the other quarterbacks, has the best coach in the league, and plays for the best team as her reason for the opinion. Right there my wife nailed the reason why every football fan hates Tom Brady.
Brady is by far the best quarterback in the game. He is also the most hated quarterback in the game. As sports fans, we hate Tom Brady because he is better looking than us, more successful than us, dates movie stars and super models, and then proceeds to embarrass our teams while making it look like he is a kid on the playground. Because of our jealous hatred, we tear him down by saying irrational things like “Brady sucks” or contemplating whether he is actually the best in the league.
Hate Tom Brady all you want, but you have to give him his due credit. There is no questioning after this season that he stands alone as the best quarterback in the league, and that’s the truth. Now, on to some fantasy football truths for week 15. AccuScore projections are listed in parenthesis.
