You can always go home again? No you can't Rich Rodriguez! Coach Rod has betrayed us all here in the Mountain State! I am all for someone trying to better themselves, but there is a way to do it, and a way not to do it. Coach Rod chose the wrong way.
He lied to his home state's fans playing up how he didn't like to fuel rumors of leaving because it hurt players and their family members. Coach Rod will find that the grass is not always greener. Especially at Michigan where they eat their own. Look at Carr's career at Michigan, nothing to scoff at and they ran him out. He leaves WVU in a fix if we don't find a coach that runs the spread offense. Our current players are recruited for that system as well as the committed recruits, if they still decide to come. He leave our team in the lurch with a huge game in the Fiesta Bowl coming up with Oklahoma. Needless to say, focus will be an issue. But the ball bounces both ways. Rod will be getting a team not geared toward the spread offense, however his recruiting will be easier than ours will be depending on who the new coach will be.
He had it made here, people loved him, even after the Pittsburgh catastrophe. He coached conservatively in that game. That combined with Pat White getting injured contributed to that mess of a game. His tail was between his legs in the post-game news conference where he told everyone "we are stuck with him". Guess not! But even our media didn't kill him on the game. Let that happen in Ann Arbor and see what happens.
Yes Coach Rod has abandoned the University and state that gave him many of his chances in life, and he won't be able to come home again in many of our eyes, that's a shame and a cold hard fact in today's college football.
