Chase is soon apon us.

One more race, where does the time go?

Who or what team do you think is looking strong?

I loved watching the last 6 laps of Atlanta yesterday.

Jimmie and Jeff put on a show that they want to win.

Missed Kyle other than he was down a lap

Who HOT .... #2 Brad Keselowski, only his second full year in CUP and Penske .... starting with the Brickyard, 9-1-2-3-1-6 ...

Who Not .... ( Sorry FLOAT ) ... #88 JR, 16-9-15-14-16-19 ... reminders me of a Football Team trying to hold on to a Lead in the 4th quarter vs Scoring another TD to put the game out of reach ....

My Question is How will NASCAR handle pass Penalties on a Driver making the CHASE ... ;-}

.... #18 Kyle Busch driver, and JGR owner, 6 points from Pocono 6-12-2011 ....

If the penalty is a Wash, and does not matter on CHASE points, ...

Kyle starts with 2000 + 3 per win (4) = 2012 ... but, minus the penalty = 2006 ...

and Jeff, Kevin, or IF he get into the top10, Brad with 3 Wins ... Start the CHASE with 2009, and in First or up Front ...

Also remember the Wild Cards get NO Bonus points for Wins, start at 2000 ... so Brad K. needs to get in the Top10 to make the WINS count ....

They haven't rolled penalties over before, so why would they now?

Yes, back in 2008 ... Last time a Driver who make the CHASE, had a penalty before the CHASE...

#99 Carl Edwards, who WON ..failed a post-race inspection because the lid of the oil tank reservoir was found to be open. Edwards and owner Jack Roush were docked 100 points apiece, fined $100,000 and crew chief Bob Osbourne was suspended for six weeks until April 30 and placed on probation through the rest of the 2008 calendar year.

... Additionally, the ten-point bonus they earned for the WIN, will not apply for the 2008 Chase.

.. Now last year in 2010 ... Clint Bowyer may the CHASE, then the First CHASE race New Hampshire had a 150 point penalty ...

I just looked up the points in 2008 after Richmond.

Edwards had 6 wins up to that point and started the Chase in second points position, but only got bonus points for 5 of those wins. Total 5050.

Kyle Busch had 8 wins, all of which counted for bonus points, and was in first with 5080. And still ended up choking and finishing 10th that year...

So Edwards win didn't count, which is understandable, but the 100 point penalty did not roll over into the Chase. I see no reason for Busch's 6 point penalty to roll over either, as he did not win the race. If Busch did win the race then he should not be awarded the bonus points for the win.

After the race yesterday I was thinking about Hendrick teams coming on late. Jimmie is back on top and Jeff is making a charge. Junior may even make the Chase this year, but I wouldn't bet the mortgage money on it. Like I said before he has a way of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I hope Jr isn't going back to bad habits.

That's right. I specifically remember that when it happened. As soon as they found Edwards was in violation after the race, Nascar came out immediately and said he would keep the win but he wouldn't be awarded the bonus points for the Chase.
