What did you think of Jeff's 85 win in the NASCAR Cup series?
Is it compareable to the old school drivers records?
I got to watch the last 6 laps of the race and Jeff looked pretty good and looked like he was borderline ready to hand the race over to Jimmie when Jimmie caught up to him.
Was actually good to see Jeff push harder than I have saw in a very long time.
The guys at work said Jeff dominated the beginning of the race as well.

JJ has had Brad on the box, arguably the best CC today, every race (except for those little suspensions a few years ago). JG has had, yes, Ray the innovator, but has had other crew chiefs, and won with them all. He had the original rainbow warriors pit crew jump ship and move to Roush supporting Dale Jarrett.
Hard to fathom that the little pencil mustached kid that showed up back in the early 90s and commenced to put a whoopin on a lot of the stars of the game is now one of the "senior statesmen" of the sport.
Hope he wins #5. I said months ago, when all the sportscasters were talking about him grabbing a wild card slot, that he seemed to be on track this year and to watch.. I hope he's got it or 11 more races.

Sounds good to me. Where should we start the new Era? I would say start in 2004, the first year of the Chase. Since that seems to be Brian France's legacy he is holding onto so tightly if we start there then we will know who to blame!

I didn't get to see the race, but saw the last few laps. That was some of the best racing I've seen in a while. Both Jeff and Jimmy almost out of control lap after lap trying to win. Maybe jeff has had enough of Jimmy being the big dog.
Hope to see more of this the rest of the season!

I always hate trying to compare any current athlete with the ones in the past. Just like baseball, football and hockey (I don't know or care about basketball.) racing was different back then. I have a hard time trying to imagine Fireball Roberts putting up with all these regulations. Junior Johnson would have had trouble too. I think its enough to say that Jeff is one of the best drivers in his time.
If you guys are putting it to a vote, I'd say it would be legitimate to call this the COT era.
