Latest in NFL-cable TV war
A simmering dispute between cable-television providers and NFL Network heated up Wednesday with threats of lawsuits and congressional action to determine which viewers can watch Thursday- and Saturday-night football games. The issue erupted after Comcast made NFL Network's Broncos-Texans game last Thursday night available to all its Colorado customers through KWGN-Channel 2's broadcast of the game.
I think this whole situation with the NFL network is rediculous. I have been told many different stories from my cable company (Armstrong) about why we don't get the games, ranging from "We don't think the asking price is worth paying to show 8 games" to "The NFL won't allow us to buy the rights to the games". As far as I can tell, Armstrong is the ONLY cable provider who carries the NFL Network, yet refuses to pay up so we can see the games. Instead of the games, we get old 1960's-1970's era movies about Texas 6-man football. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but that is not what I am interested in watching. I pay $95.00 a month for my cable, and don't get to see the games. It is un-fair to EVERYBODY who subscribes to cable. The Steeler game will be on in "local" KDKA TV-2 areas tomorrow night, but I'm NOT a Steeler fan, Im A Cowboys fan. Well, guess who gets screwed this Saturday night........ Anyone who might be a Cowboy or Panther fan who don't live in those areas........... that is TWICE I don't get to see the Cowboys play this year..... Someone needs to pull thier heads out of thier **** and get this figured out so WE ALL don't continue to get screwed....
