Just for funsies, I thought I'd take a look around the media world and see what people are saying about the Motor City Bowl. Here's some of the highlights:
Purdue vs. Central Michigan:
This will be a rematch of the Sept. 15 meeting that Purdue won 45-22. Who in Detroit could be responsible for scheduling this horrible matchup again? My only guess: Matt Millen.

The Chippewas won four of their last five games and beat Miami (Ohio) 35-10 in the MAC championship game. Quarterback Dan LeFevour is a dual threat, with 3,360 passing yards and 1,008 rushing. The Boilermakers lost their last three games, after an impressive 5-0 start, and finished 3-5 in Big Ten play.

Do you think when Purdue's Joe Tiller and Central Michigan's Butch Jones walked off the field following the Boilermakers' 45-22 rout on Sept. 15, one of them said, "Good game -- hope we see you again in Detroit?" At least we get to see CMU's 3,000-yard passer/1,000-yard rusher, Dan LeFevour.

If the idea of the bowl system is to create an interesting game in a great location featuring teams that otherwise wouldn't play each other, this matchup is zero-for-three.
-Detroit in December is not my idea of a holiday.
And while the two offenses can put up points, these two teams played already this season. Purdue beat Central Michigan 45-22 on September 15th
-Not many people watched it then, and I doubt many more will be ready to spend the night after Christmas glued to their television sets.

My personal favorite would have to be the one blaming Matt Millen. I wonder how many "Fire Millen" games will appear at this game. More or less than the Lions game on the 23rd? I can't wait to find out!
