The in-game report from NFL Network says Steelers RB Willie Parker broke his right fibula, which would end his season.
He broke it early in the first quarter in Thursday night's game against St. Louis. Pittsburgh leads 24-17 early in the third, and the Steelers are inside the Rams 10 yard line.
Parker's injury would all but assure Jacksonville RB Fred Taylor the open AFC RB spot on the Pro Bowl roster. It would be Taylor's first trip to Honolulu.
Parker will fall shy of the rushing title, which would have been the team's first in over 60 years. Parker led the league in rushing yards going into Week 16.
