HOLY SMOKES!!! Those Italians must be cursing right now.
Roma-Real Madrid
Liverpool -- Inter Milan
Arsenal -- AC Milan
Will Arsenal pull off the same performance they did against Juventus two years ago when Fabregas ripped them up? Talk about youth versus age. This is perhaps the most extreme case in Europe. Maldini has been playing long before these Arsenal were born. Real Madrid has to return to Rome to go up against a Roma side that may beef up in the winter transfer. Not easy for Real Madrid nor Roma. Will Totti be healthy and steal the show in this one? And finally, despite Liverpool's form in the EPL, they have a juicy encounter at the San Siro where English teams have not done well. I think this is Torres's chance to prove is one of the world's best strikers. I would love to see Zlatan go up against a physical EPL defense! Will the Suazo signing come in handy if Mancini tries to match speed for speed?
What do you will be the best match-up of the round? I can't decide between the EPL-Serie A matchups. The last few EPL-Serie A games in the knockout rounds were great (ie ManUtd-Roma, ManUtd-Milan, Liverpool-Milan, Arsenal-Juventus). Which team got the most luck in the draw? I think Barcelona (vs. Celtic), ManUtd (vs. Lyon) and especially Chelsea (vs. Olympiakos). Also, I think Schalke and Porto are happy to have avoided the big boys. Same with Sevilla and Fenerbahce.
Peace out you guys and enjoy the Holidays!

So much can happen between now and the Feb. knockouts, but I like Real's chances against Roma if things stay as they are now.

Report Offensive Commentarsenal milan is probably the juciest the draw, as the EPL leaders take on the defending champs. i would also like to see how good ibrahimovic really is, but i dont think liverpool have the best defense other than carragher. chelsea draw is the easiest, and lyon are not a team to be reckoned with, having the likes of benzema and juninho

Report Offensive Commentso imagine if all three italian squads get illiminated before the quaters. i dont think its going to happen tho, as a matter of fact i think there is a better chance of the opposite happening. as much as i hate to say it, i think liverpool is done. Inter is too good, im picking them to win it. although valencia was able to knock them out last year so who knows. arsenal is screwed if kaka comes even close to matching his performances in last years CL and in the club world cup. and although madrid clearly is a superior team to roma, i wouldnt put it past roma to pull an upset. I would say the sleeper team is going to be FC porto. they get a pretty easy match against olympiakos, and they are in unbelievable form in their domestic league. i think it will end up being Inter vs ManU or barca and inter will take it. however, im rarely am correct in my predictions ; )
