I know this is kind of late but Floyd Mayweather Jr should not retire boxing. After his fight with Ricky Hatton a couple of weeks ago. Mayweather proved he is a great fighter prehaps one of the best of all time. Mayweather after the Ricky Hatton fight Mayweather has gone 39-0. Mayweather has won a total of 7 belts and has been champion in 5 different wieght class. Did i mention he is only 29. After beating the "Golden Boy" Oscar Delahoya (the fight was the highest viewed boxing fight since boxing has gone to Pay per View). He just now being notice as a super star. Even though the Oscar Delahoya fight was one of the biggest fights of all time. Boxing seems to be losing interest due to things like WWE and to MMA fights like UFC. I still believe that there is hope for boxing. I do not think it will be gone any time soon. I believe that UFC and Boxing can play on the same playing field. However I know one thing, that is boxing does not need it biggest superstar retiring at 29 and becoming a promoter. Mayweather is the promoter for fighting. Mayweather fights will make him more money then his fights that he trys to promotes. The bottom line boxing needs Mayweather boxing!
